Better endurance performance?

Btw its crazy to think about these guys maybe now they have a family and they are worried about them doing weed and shit, but 20 years before they were walking pharmacies lol
Hopefully they didn’t all join our boy George trying to win their local amateur triathlon lmao

Since this thread is back from the dead, might as well see if anyone else takes testosterone only for endurance training. I’m training for a full Ironman and definitely am not competitive enough to consider EPO, but surely 200-300mg test per week would help me out more than my natty self, right? Assuming training, diet, and sleep are the same.

How much do you train for week?
Bc test gh ecc do not improve the performance itself but recovery ecc so u can train harder
So if u arent overtrained(or hypogonadal) and u dont plan to train more 200/300mg of test i dont think its useful an endurance athlete should just aim to be in the upper end of natty testosterone levels

I’m at the tail end of marathon only training for a Dec marathon so my hours per week are relatively low right now, but once I’m done with this marathon I expect to average 15 hours weekly and then longer once the long bike rides start getting up there. I started 200mg weekly of test this year and I can definitely tell that my soreness after long runs is almost nonexistent if I get enough protein and sleep that day and my trough at that dose is right around 1000.

So what you’re saying is increasing my test dosage to like 500mg weekly would do nothing to help me recover faster from Ironman training compared to 200mg weekly?

For 15h u dont really need test, if u go to 20+ maybe but honestly i wouldnt go more than 150mg/wk and only in specific cases i would say 100mg/wk is the ideal testosterone dose for an endurance athlete ofc everyone react to it in different ways but thats what usually take to do a real trt
Like the goat @Benf15harp say nutrition sleep ecc are the best tools in sport are nutrition and sleep, i noticed a lot how sleep impacted the recovery
Then ofc u come to a limit where the juice is gonna help u for many different things feel less pain:tapentadol higher hematocrit:iron, epo, roxardustat
Better recovery:test,gh
Then there are many other things like peptides cortisone and salbutamol but the base is train hard sleep well and fuel properly ur efforts

Wow, a thread about endurance where someone actually knows what they are talking about.

Fully agree with your general messaging here.

High end of range without going too far into supra is what endurance athletes should be looking for. There is definitely no free lunch here as opposed to many other athletic endeavors.

GH could be leveraged but there is going to be a very careful balance between size (water retention) and the recovery benefits.

The comments about T3, T4, Clen (LOL), etc... are just completely insane. And EPO is fucking dumb to touch for an amateur athlete.

T3 is interesting when ur really at the limit to keep ur thyroid in the upper natty range, not smart to use it for weight loss for many things, first an endurance athlete could eat more than the average guy and loose weight and second the difference is like 300kcal i think? Its like 20min of cycling zone 2
Gh probably being in like 2/3ui is good not more and even there most of the time not necessary if young and not at the real limit in time and intensities
Epo tbh depend the gains are interesting and are there for sure but u have to be a have caution but the risk that is usually reported imho are a bit exagerated if used smart

You make a good point - the consequences, causes, and fixes regarding low T3 for athletes isn't discussed that much and I bet many suffer from it unknowingly.

Awesome thanks for the advice. Now I just need a drug that can make me tolerate 4-5 hours on Zwift because I don’t have good cycling infrastructure where I’m at and I’ll be golden.

Ehhh. How bad do you want it? I use to tell myself that if I want to go sub-10 (totally natural) I better put in the time. Also, don't think about the whole thing at once. Break it down into manageable time blocks. Make it so that the only time you can binge watch Netflix is on the trainer. Winners are made in the winter right?
