Official prep log to first shows

Awesome dude training is very simple. No drop sets etc as before I was digging myself into a whole. I can train very emotionally and it often made the rest of my day to day life pretty awful sadness and depression wise after any session. It’s like I would save every bit of feeling and push it into the gym, but even though I was strong I was stupid. Training is much slower and methodical now. Big squeezes, 2-3 sec negatives, 1 sec pause in whole, no explosion up but a controlled squeeze.

I used to be an athlete so I want to explode all movements bc that’s what I was taught but I’d end up allowing other muscles to take over to move the weight as fast as possible!
Bro I can relate to the first part of this. The past month or so I have dug myself into a recovery hole with the training, Myo reps, drop sets, 1x100 rep finishers.. you know what I’m talking about I’m sure.

Trying not to be a bitch about it but damn lol. My whoop band is clocking a 15-18 strain per training session not even counting the daily cardio and I’m constantly waking up in the red. (Not sure if you use whoop- if not disregard)

update.

Check-ins tomorrow

Yeah I’m almost positive we did/do. Life outside on the gym is basically no existent because I’m too tired to do anything.

Checkin day!! Coach wa pleased with changes. Only up .6lbs this week but looking tighter. No changes necessary. Allowing body to lean out here until we pull the trigger in December!IMG_5324.webp

Good evening gentlemen. I figured I would go ahead and begin this log as I begin prep on December 1 I am 22 years old and this will be my first two shows I’ve ever done in my life. After having a fairly successful off-season, I’ll be competing in the classic category.

Please let me know what all you guys wanna know and we can go from there and get some debate and topics started. I check in every Saturday so that is when I plan to update regularly when it comes to my updates once things start changing.

I’ll go ahead and attach some pictures from my last cut before I booked so you guys can see what I’m working withView attachment 359514View attachment 359515
Dang bro armsc and shoulders are massive. Did you put extra Focus into those or is that just genetics?

For me training wise. I wa always a multiple times a week fit for all body parts, but right now back is what I want to bring up most, so we have a ton of my volume recovery budget going there. Everything is pretty balanced, but can never have a big enough back.

These past 2-3 months have been a large eye opener for me training wise. I wa s Avery much clang and bang guy but I’ve slowed my approach and focused on my intent and true focus during sessions and not being so emotionally driven to lift weights.
Bro Im surprised if Luki didnt lecture you about that kind of training. When I started with him I also had some of those kinds of training habits from competing in PL and he would send several minute voice memos about why/how I had to stop lifting like that. It totally changed my approach and fixed a lot of the joint pain issues and imbalances though.

Regardless of why that approach has changed youre definitely gonna make improvements shifting to a more focused and accurate training style— especially with emphasizing certain muscle groups. If you do that kind of lifting on back day it’s gonna be a show stopper for sure
