So we transition to adding calories, adding 200 calories, until I plateau again. Slow and steady.

Do you take ksm-66 by any chance?
That shit brought my cortisol from above the reference range to just within the lower side reference range.
Huh, actually yeah -- I take a Ashwagandha + Maca + Rhodiola + l-Theanine combo supp daily

Good thinking, that might explain it. I've also heard hearsay that long-term Ashwagandha use can have potentially negative effects on Dopamine but I can't comment on the veracity of that, not having looked into it all...

It made me feel sedated and zombie like so I had to take it out.

Probably cuz I was using a hefty dose one for around 1-2 years. Had to cycle off it.

I was using actual KSM-66 Clincally doses

Btw ur supplement from a Ashwaghanda standpoint seems weak.
  • 167 mg extract (30:1)
  • NO standardized withanolide % listed so no raw herb equiv.
So technically, it’s not clinically dosed. But u have good cortisol so it doesn’t matter to u specifically to have stronger Ash.

I was probably using 433mg+ than ur blend.

Hmm, I'll drop it out of my stack and see if I notice anything -- thanks!
Tbh clinically speaking u don’t rly have any standardized or clinical dosing in that supplement except for L-Theanine.

For example MACA if u wanted to dose it, you should probably be looking around 1.5 - 3g if u wanted to actually make use of it based on clinical effectiveness dosages

U might be better off taking L-Theanine alone

Lemme look into them in a bit. I’m like you, I didn’t mind spending $300+ on supplements. Had shit testosterone as a natural and was obsessed to lower blood markers as an enhanced.

I’ve ran probably every supplement you can think of clinically dosed and I pay more money to get it from a source that is 100% guaranteed to provide accurate dosing and I’ve had blood test with and without many

Also, some Pharma solutions sometimes are cheaper and reducer pill count a lot

Have any of them actually done anything noticeable for you?

I buy a bottle of something and run it until it's empty then stop if I don't think it's doing anything

Vitamin D seems dangerously high, 20000iu, without the multi factored in.

I’ve read studies that HMB was shown useful mainly for untrained people or who are inherently catabolic, doesn’t seem beneficial on gear.

Is there a reason ur zinc is so high as an enhanced? Is it balanced with ur copper intake

May I ask why u take Dextromethorphan (DXM) and
Beta Ecdysterone ?

Also that dose green tea extract (EGCG) seems mega, i think its like 4x the usual safety dose.

Ur have weird supps I usually never see and some at mega doses. I might be missing smth maybe

Tbh the best vitamins are usually the B ones, I’d expect a megadose of b12 with those.

I also care highly about the form of the supplement I’m taking and also care about the brand quality. Which sometimes causes it to be hella expensive.

With regards to my weight, i changed smth 3 days ago. Now I am also torn apart.

I started eating ground beef instead of steak for 3 days, didn’t think much of it.

Apparently my steak’s calories might have been mislabeled. Which mean I was eating an extra 375-400kcal. Now I’m hella confused.

I dropped my calories, but then also technically dropped them harder? And how tf is a steak labeled 130kcal per serving and is possibly 380kcal.

This is just bugging me tf out.

I also stocked up on this steak, like a good 15 pieces. But I don’t want to eat smth mislabeled.

Also found a second product with a higher calorie count but same cut? Bro wtf

I also stocked up on some ny strips but the calories seems off as well.

I know it seemed obvious looking at it now, but mid-cut looking at this piece of steak, and doing a deep research with chatgpt and confirming it’s possible.

But the , when I see a normal ribeye, I clearly see inter-muscular fat, and a bug fat cap, I don’t rly have that in my rib-eye.

Got into my head again. I hate my life rn

Different fat cuts of ground beef, mis-labeled calories?

this is pissing me tf off

All these research and inconsistencies are annoying me.

I’ll have to re-calculate every calorie I ate from day 1.

I’m someone who never missed a calorie ever, so I won’t be content until I figure out exactly what I ate.

This puts me right at the upper end of the reference range (though recently dropped ~20 pts, not sure why), people don't realize how much Vitamin D you can safely use:

Could be true, I got a bulk 250g powder on sale for $10, figured might as well take it on the off chance it does anything

I am constantly becoming Zinc deficient, not sure why, even with Zinc supplementation. Trying to figure this out...

May I ask why u take Dextromethorphan (DXM) and
Beta Ecdysterone ?
I use the DXM with Buproprion for DIY "Auvelity" for depression, even though I haven't been depressed in a long time.

Also, NMDA antagonists have a bunch of beneficial effects psychologically.

For Ecdysterone: It has so many studies showing beneficial/anabolic effects

Also that dose green tea extract (EGCG) seems mega, i think its like 4x the usual safety dose.
Yeah, I actually stopped taking it as of today. I am very anemic/iron deficient and it turns out that Green Tea Extract + Turmeric both interfere with iron absorption, and I was taking my iron at the same time

I have to go get an IV iron infusion in a few days, got an RX from doctor yesterday thankfully

I think you should use weekly averages for your weight metrics man, bodyweight can fluctuate so much daily due to small changes
100% agreed.

And even week to week things can swing all over the place. Did you train the day before? Have a cheat meal? Wake up at 3 AM to pee and drop off a poopoo delivery? The mirror helps, but your own eyes can lie to you, so having someone else look at progress pics is clutch. Weight + pics = the real combo.

Perhaps something to consider if you think this approach might suit you.

Personally, I track macros and don't bother with calories logging everything into an app just stresses me out and overcomplicates things. I'd rather follow a fixed plan, like 250P / 400C / 50F, and count the macros directly from whole foods. For example: chicken breast (and most meats) is about 20P per 100g, rice 80C per 100g, oats 80C per 100g, nuts 50F per 100g, bread 40C per 100g, and so on.

I stick to a simple routine and eat the same foods every day. Some people call it boring, but for me it's constant, easy and convenient. No stress about shopping or deciding what to cook. It keeps things consistent, makes the diet effortless to follow, and makes transitioning into a new phase much smoother without having to rebuild everything from scratch.

I personally most likely have Functional Iron Deficiency + Thalassemia Trait due to me being middle eastern. Family suffers from it too.

The colored results are my 5 week old ones. I did 72mg iron biglycinate and time it exactly away from calcium/magnesium/dairy/eggs/zinc/tea supplements for absorbing. The second pair of results are after using iron.

I am asymptomatic so I started to give up, will continue supplementing but it got worse.

Thalassemia Trait seems likely based on my blood and history:
  • Why I TSAT crashes
  • Why I get low iron but normal ferritin
  • Why I hemoglobin stays normal
  • Why I have lifelong low MCH/MCHC
  • Why I don’t feel “sick” or “anemic”
  • Why my supplementation doesn’t fully normalize your numbers, but will be trying more megadoses
For Ecdysterone

I believe most studies for ecdysterone were animal and the human didn’t rly prove anything, there was like one study but had many flaws
