I got a novo 5 pen and it looks like it only takes proprietary cartridges. I saw you can get adapters but from chatgpt it says they aren't calibrated for the universal cartridges and dosing would be off. Don't know if that's true or not but made me worried about using something with precision dosing like GH

Yeah dosing is off and you need to adjust by a certain percentage.

You should just get cheap V2 pens on aliexpress, they do the job.

You need an adapter to use standard cartridges. The adapter then results in the dose not matching the number you select on the pen, so you need to adjust the selected dose. It’s “accurate”, meaning it produces the same amount every time. But, the amount it puts out doesn’t match the selected dose.

I have 6-7 pens, and for that reason none are the Novo. My favorite is the “bird pen”. It’s spring-loaded, so after you dial your dose, you press a button on the side that pushed out your dose automatically vs having to manually push the plunger. The “V1” and “V2” pens are pretty ubiquitous and work fine too.

There's a long thread on this forum about pens.
This was what i recommended..it used to be 18$..after posting about it, the price went up to $55..

It's a China clone of pharma Gensupen.

All that hassle and uncertainty just to avoid using an insulin syringe?
The “hassle” described is specific to the Novo. Its popularity is due to its superior build quality. However, I would not recommend that as someone’s first pen.

For your typical pen, I would argue that the cumulative hassle is far less than using an insulin syringe. Dialing your dose is far easier/faster, and likely more precise than pulling into an insulin syringe. You also have a fresh needle that hasn’t been dulled by going into a stopper.

Not to say it doesn’t happen, but I’ve yet to read anyone switching back from pens once they start. The exception maybe being something you only inject once a week like a GLP. But I even use a pen for those.

Thanks guys. I got a 40 dollar generic pen from Amazon to try out. Hopefully I didn't go too cheap and get something that doesn't dose properly. Loaded it up today and trying it through the week.

I've got some credit from aliexpress from returning the novo 5. I'll try out the gansulin pen.

A good way to test accuracy is to fill a cartridge with water, put it in your pen, then insert an insulin syringe into the end of the cartridge. Select a dose on your pen and press the plunger. It will fill your insulin syringe. Using the marking on your syringe, you can determine if it matches the dose you selected, or will at least inform you as to how much you may need to adjust your dose on the pen. In this example, I selected 40 units on my pen - so pretty accurate.

Yeah there’s adapters and from what I seen in the TG groups still doses accurately

Awesome info. Thanks! Going to try that right now

It is about convenience. Once you get started and learn to use them they are much faster particularly if you are like me and are injecting a bunch of different peptides on top of HCG, HGH and god knows what.

100% for convenience

Once a week I load 2 cartridges with all the peptides I'm using for the week

I've never had a problem loading a week's worth of 2 or 3 peptides in the same cartridge
