So in general I know most of you guys here are focused on bodybuilding, powerlifting, and strongman but how many of you do a hybrid style training of lifting w/ long distance cardio, sprinting. Styles that are more sport athletics focused to be precise. For those of you that dabble in this area what was your experience like for meshing different lifting programs to the cardio portions. How and what gear did you find to work best for your situations?
Personally when I came back to exercise from a year off from an injury I followed John meadows programs naturally for a year. Then decided to go on a Trt+ regimen for the following year adding in structured blocks per season of running, sprinting, rowing, and jump rope. Going into year three I added a minor dose of npp just as a cushion.
My results were great. I still have a bit of a journey for the body composition but performance wise it’s been a nice steady climb. My lifts have consistently rose at a steady pace and dramatically increase when I added in the cardio segments. My cardio when getting on Trt+ just exploded past a few levels and then holds a slow gradual gain.
Over all while I’m not aiming for a show or sporting competition, my goal is just to enjoy the exercise and have the ability to physically do what ever I would like as I age.
