With acrylic ones, you also have to careful about both washing temps & storage to avoid warping - I store mine fully disassembled as the force from the springs under the bottom plate are enough to cause the bottom plate to develop a concave, which would lead to unequal filling (& thus dosing) across each batch.

I actually did not consider warping.

I had also looked into buying one of these, but I am wary about the plastic ones.
The upgrade to stainless steel and thick acrylic is almost $1000.

Or did someone find something more in the price range of a few hundred bucks?

What are you wary about in particular?

If you’re intending to cap for personal use amounts, the plastic AllIn type discussed in this thread are more than adequate.

TBH, it is mostly my disdain for stuff just made out of plastic. It might be unwarranted in this particular case.
I was assuming there must be something between $40 and 1000$. I would not mind paying $2-300 for something that feels nice and sturdy when using it.
I tend to be a buy once, cry once kind of buyer, but maybe you are right, and this is all I need.

The all in capsule type works great.

Check out the profiler 3600. A friend of mine had one. It's a semi automatic capsule filler, and supposedly he said he could make up to 5000 caps/h.

Fantastic bit of kit …. But they cost thousands of dollars & are probably quite difficult for Americans to buy, given most sellers will require approval from the DEA to sell you one (not exactly sure how that works as I’m British).

Clearly not for personal use either.
