HGH side effects

This is my first time taking GH. I just started taking 2ius on Monday to see how my body reacts. I been taking it at night before bed and I have not been able to sleep. I also start to sweat . I do get a few hrs of sleep because I get some very vivid dreams. Has anyone experience this and have anything to help I would appreciate it

Brought HGH back at 2iu, and apparently my IGF shot up again, because the headaches came right back with it. Starting to think GH just isn’t for me. Gonna take a solid six-month break and give it another shot later. For now, my 5000iu stash can chill peacefully in the fridge, dreaming of better days.

Take in the morning. I had to change due to sleep issues. Made me wired. I take before any meals. 4iu.

I had these issues too. Since i've optimized my sleep with melantonin, glycine and daily magnesium before bed in the evening, and pushed through, I actually sleep fine now. I also had headaches when i started using and all the symptoms, but after a few weeks it should get a lot better. Morning or daytime shots make me feel off during the day, i tried that too.

Also I found out that i respond extremely well to HGH, a little under 5iu puts me more than 2x over the ref range on IGF1. You might be a good responders as well. Tapering the dose down to where you still sleep well with it works. Then titrate up slower. It made a big difference to me.

Why not stay at a lower dosage?? Bro science says 2 iu’s or nothing but start low and stay low for a longer period… i have buddies whom only go up like .100 per week…

Headaches are a side effect thats why even my doc said to start at .100 and move up .100 per week until i can get to 1iu… and then do the same until i get to 2iu and on…

Yeah it's because of the shift in water in your body. If you go high too fast, extracellular water volume increases cause swelling in your skull and it gives you a headache.

Yeah, the issue for me is that I’m just really sensitive to GH. No matter the dose I’ve tried 1, 2, 3, and even up to 4iu my IGF shoots way up, last time it hit around 760. I stayed on GH for about 7 months, and no matter what I did, I kept getting mild headaches. At first, I thought it was EQ causing it, but turns out it was the GH all along. As soon as I dropped it, the headaches disappeared and I felt normal again. I tried jumping back on recently, and same story. So for now, I’m taking a break from GH.

Q, SSA, Lob, Opti, and HYB.

It's strange how we all have similar experiences but we all also figure out how to make adjustments for are own genetic make up and take that info as well. I started at 2ius the first week and couldn't sleep and had headaches. So I decided to go up to 4ius but split it up 2 in the morning and 2 at night and I sleep great actually sometimes too great were I just want to stay in bed

Hmm thats a pretty good observation… weird how more equalled less sides i wonder why? Honestly, its very odd to me..

Damn i hope it doesnt affect me like that… its the cranial pressure id suppose but as a side effect how do u combat it? Drinking more water? Adding in sodium? Taking a diuretic??

I agree. Someone on the thread mentioned how 2ius was just enough to disrupt your natural circadian rhythm but by adding more to increase igf1 way over can make you more tired . I thought that was interesting and tried it and it worked for me

Yeah, that cranial pressure is exactly what it felt like. I tried increasing water and sodium, even played around with electrolytes and sleep, but nothing really helped. Diuretics might ease the pressure a little, but they’ll also dehydrate you fast. For me the only real “fix” was dropping the dose or stopping altogether. Once I stopped, the headaches vanished within a few days. Some guys handle GH like champs, but my head clearly didn’t get that memo.

Since I’ve got that constant itch and can’t just let HGH sit in the fridge like a museum exhibit, I fired it back up. First week I did 1iu, now I’m on 1.5iu every morning around 5-6 AM. Feeling great so far, a little water came in but zero sides, no headaches, nothing. Next week I’m moving to 2iu and will keep an eye on how my body reacts.

Also noticed that even at 1.5iu my muscles feel fuller and tighter throughout the day. Hopefully 2iu gives me the same or better feeling. I’ll pull IGF-1 labs in 2 weeks, expecting something in the 300-400 range, and if that happens I’ll hold 2iu for the next 6-8 months and track everything closely.

Sides are normal, per the society of endocrinology rHGH Adult Treatment Guidelines. It’s an issue of too high a dose for a particular individual, often escalated too quickly.

They switched from calculating dose based on weight, to starting low, and slowly titrating up until reaching the desired IGF-1 target, which instead of “middle of the range” like it used to be is now allowed to vary based on individual doctor judgement / patient preference, all the way to Z score +2 (max physiological IGF), and go on to note even at that “high” level, there’s no reason it can’t continue being used safely, for life, provided IGF-1 target is adjusted down according to age.

A lot if the variability between rHGH users would be eliminated if we spoke about dose in terms of IGF-1, instead of IU. IU only the means to reach the IGF-1 you’re looking for.

What 2iu does for a hyper-responder, in terms of both positive and side effects, can take 10iu in someone with high GH resistance.

How long can we keep IGF above 400 before the consequences kick in? I honestly don’t remember the exact timelines, but my z-score was 7.3 for about 2-3 months and nothing extra grew. No changes in the face either. Nose, forehead, jaw, everything looks the same.

Or do the complications only start after 2+ years of living in “IGF-400 Club”?

If you really want to know if this is happening, and how fast, get a P1NP test. It measures new bone formation.

Normal max for an adult is about 75.

As long as that IGF/Z score 7 is maintained:

After 4 weeks P1NP should be 2-4x the physiological max, 150-300.

At that level bone changes can be seen on imaging at around 6 months.

Changes from hyper bone-growth become visible / symptomatic (joint distortion and tooth issues) starting around 2 years.

From what I’ve read, after a few months bone changes in progress aren’t really reversible. If you stop rHGH, the ongoing process will stop, but when you start up again, the clock isn’t back to zero. It picks up close to where you left off.

Jasonhealth has the cheapest P1NP test available.
