If you don't want to commit to the aggressive pinning, just do deca twice a week. Start low and titrate up over 4 weeks to see how you respond.
I think I'm just getting impatient waiting on the Deca. It's more than likely that I'm expecting more relief than it's actually going to offer. I'll switch to EOD.

I'm still gonna wipe the needles but I'll stop rationing the wipes and maybe switch brands. Thanks for the info

Edit. Plus I like it if there is a little alcohol sting going it. Gives me that clean, sterile feeling

If you want to do something, id suggest pouring rubbing alcohol on it instead and letting it air dry rather than wiping.

You gotta do you! Could we compromise and have you dip them in alcohol instead? Leaving a sterile fiber under your skin is a great way to develop a sterile abcess.

Is your concern specifically your egfr score, or is your greater concern kidney function?

There are lots of things that can affect egfr, training before testing, hydration....

If your overall concern is kidney function, check cystatin c, and maybe a urinalysis.
It honestly was just a small panic lmao. It was up around 99 back i ln july so seeing it “drop” had me slightly concerned. But I had literally just trained right before, and was definitely dehydrated so after hearing that could change the number a lot relaxed me a bit. Im getting blood work again in a few weeks and assuming it will be back up where it always is!

This is not a good idea. The sterilization process used on hypodermic needles is gamma irradiation, a much more powerful, for lack of a better term, form of sterilization than alcohol. Alcohol doesn't kill everything, certain molds for instance, and you're more likely to contaminate the needle with fibers than you are to remove any possible contaminants. There's a reason that the proper injection technique involves swabbing the skin (for at least 15 seconds, which means you'd need to wipe your needle for the same amount of time to see any theoretical benefit) and not the needle. You're also removing the coating on the needle, making for more drag and a possibly a more painful injection. Do as you wish, just letting you know you're potentially causing more issues than you're solving.

I don't understand why there's even a question as to the necessity of wiping or dipping needles in alcohol. The needle is gamma irradiated. The cap should stay on right up until you are ready to inject. Remove the cap, push the needle into the injection site. There's no more time for it to somehow become contaminated with airborne particles during that time than there is between the the time you would let the alcohol dry on the needle after dipping or wiping it before you'd inject. I'm all for harm reduction, but this practice defies logic.

Thanks, this is convincing. I was wrong to swab the needle lol

I totally understand the desire to be extra cautious and take additional measures, especially when it comes to sterility, but we need to be careful to examine what we're doing carefully, and acquire an adequate understanding on a topic in order to make the right choices. What may seem on the surface to be helpful, may in fact be detrimental.

Yea I wouldnt wipe down the needle, its already sterile and you're gonna jab your finger eventually. Doesn't feel good ive done it myself lol

Because I know it's sterile after I wipe it. And in case there are airborne contaminants that get to it after I open it. That was my thinking at least until you said this
Alcohol sanitizes not sterilize. You're actually making it dirtier. I used to cultivate mushrooms so I know a lot about sterile technique.
