Mercury blood test -- time to cut back on the tuna

Variety is key. Deens in evoo are probably my fav though. Fuck chicken, so burned out on it.
I have never actually considered sardines as a valid/daily source of protein TBH.
Once in a while I really like a can of sardines on whole grain toast, but I can't find EEVO ones, or those in just saltwater for a decent price where I live.
The ones in sunflower(?) oil are not even half the price.

True, you gotta have room in your macros for the fat, but at least it's the pro-HDL kind.
That is no trouble at all for me. I didn't *want* to eat those up to 800g of rather clean carbs dailly, that I have been already up to in the past...

I am starting to find better priced cans, I am just unsure if that olive oil (not EVOO!) is any good, or if I should just get those with brined sardines.

PS: Perplexity says that sardines have 10x less mercury than tuna.

The younger, smaller fish don't have time to absorb it.
Yes, smaller fish in general have less mercury per weight than larger ones. Just wanted to point that out again for anyone not knowing about this.

Brined is fine. Much higher protein:fat ratio, better if protein is your goal. Evoo is (allegedly) good for your HDL too though.
My concern is that I don't trust the olive oil mafia, they are out to sell me some inferior shit as EVOO. With brine I am safe from those crooks.
I really hate them with passion. They took all the joy out of olive oil for me.
I hope they mess with another mafia, and get shafted, like Columbian drug cartels or someone like that.

Just a small update on my sardine journey, for anyone following me:

I found sardines in tomato sauce at local Lidl for a rather cheap price. Obviously no added fats, but they only have like 5-6g of total fats.
What kind of skinny sardines do these MFers put into my can?
You can tell by how they taste they hadn't had time to fatten up, sadly. From what I was able to gather, a full fat sardine should have triple that in fat

I know that ain't a source board, so please excuse me disrespecting the rules for knowingly, but if somebody is able to hook me up with domestic high quality sardines, either in EVOO, or brine, I'd appreciate a message.

Maybe we should pool our resources and do independet testing for fat content of these sardines, I feel like there is a lot shady stuff going on with these vendors.
