Getting back in the gym in my 40’s

Hello everyone. I have been out of the game for a bit but I am finally returning. I worked out for 8 years from my young adult years and into my late 20’s. I went through a lengthy and stressful divorce that caused me to start drinking heavily leading to me falling out of my gym routine. I am now in my 40’s and got remarried to my wonderful wife. We did the family thing for the last 12 years raising kids and having a busy household. Now that my kids are older and are able to do more for themselves, I’ve started going back to the gym. I work out 6 days a week and started at the beginning of this year. Since I am done having kids, I have been exploring the use of enhancements and been hooked on the progress and how great it makes me feel. Looking forward to interacting with you guys on my rediscovered journey into health and bodybuilding.

Welcome to MESO. I’m not sure how much research you’ve done regarding peds but there’s more to it than I first anticipated. We are roughly the same age so my only advice is read through some of the old threads and educate yourself before make definitive plans. I took a couple months to read and ask questions before I came up with a rough outline and am happy I didn’t rush into anything. Good luck with ur journey

I appreciate the advice. I have been taking things slow and did do my blood work prior to starting TRT. I will stay on TRT for the rest of the year and take this time to learn as much as I can. Glad to see I’m not the only one starting around my age.

To my surprise most of the active community appears to be in our age group. Good info in all subforums but I’ve found the over 40 forum a good place to visit. See you around
