Basic/Affordable/Comprehensive Bloodwork

On my way

They really pay for elective bloodwork? Like you could go through that website and pick whatever tests you wanted and it would be covered?
First time trying, it's main selling point is being able to accept insurance, STG TG group said it works and is worth it. So I just sent them an email requesting the tests. You can't pick the exact lab test code u want, it's just labeled (total testosterone), but STG claims you can ask for a specific lab test.

They do charge a $30 processing fee but worth it if insurance covers it

I would be highly skeptical of this. Highly is not a big enough word.

It is extraordinarily unlikely that an insurance provider will pay for random voluntary tests picked out by an individual.

You need to contact the customer service for your health plan and ask them. Not a room full of idiots on telegram.

I was very curious about this, so I registered and went through the steps to order a test.

While it may be true that "it works".... that doesn't mean you aren't going to be financially responsible for the cost.

Yes, they let anyone place an order and submit their insurance information.

But notice how they specify no guarantee that your insurance will actually cover it, and that you are agreeing to be billed for any costs not paid by insurance.

Those costs are going to be extremely inflated I'm sure.

You are likely just buying a very expensive test

Notice how there is no detail given about what insurance providers they are partnered with, or have any way to verify coverage before placing the order.....

I think you are just going to be out a lot of money dude

I'm not placing an order till they confirm it's covered, if they don't I ain't ordering. Anyth that sounds too good to be true is usually that.
But if they actually ask my insurance ik for a fact they would pay for it.

I'm extremely skeptical that a health insurance company would cover a blood test ordered by a patient.

when i go to an am/pm I don't have reason for bloodwork, I just ask if I can get the following test cuz I want to do a check up and they write up a lab order and my insurance doesn't ask any further (usually other's would why does he need it).

Just last week I randomly went in and ordered e2, prolactin, cmp, cbc, cortisol, lipid, ha1bc, TT/FT/SHBG and even magnesium/thyroid. Who tf randomly ordered a prolactin and cortisol for no reason. (ofc mid cycle check up but he didn't know that).

Went back again yesterday to retest my prolactin/e2 for a second time just a sheer 6 days later and also ordered an iron panel. No questions asked fully paid.
This has worked for me ever since I can to the US.

I also once had a sus mole, a week later went to a clinic removed and did a biopsy, no questions asked fully paid.

Being able to use insurance, doesnt not mean it is covered.
You can bill anything you want to insurance, whether they reject it is anyones guess.

Your annual checkup with your PCP is covered, because it's billed as preventive. However testing like these is usually billed as something else (diagnostic i believe) and the coverage is anyone's guess. It may be partially covered or your insurance may just decline it.

It depends on your insurance.

The difference is that it's a health care professional placing the order, and not an individual.

Is the problem that the test through the clinic you go to is capped and you need to find an uncapped test?

Are you in the US right now?

yup, and I am in the US rn.
Well technically it should be a doctor referred lab order via the site. Even I think it's a long shot but from my experience it's a clean 50/50.

To add to my post,
They are a telemedicine practice with licensed physicians/NPs in each state they operate.
When you request labs through them, you aren’t ordering it as a “consumer purchase” (like you would from UltaLabs or PrivateMDLabs).

Nobody knows what your insurance company will do.

Cool, give it a try and report back.

If no luck there, This website has an uncapped test through quest for $11 + an additional $12 for the lab fee.... which is actually cheaper than the $30 processing fee the other website is going to charge you

Also, people here have 20% off discount codes.

GoodLabs

If you decide to use that and want a discount code, look through this thread for one or PM me for mine.

I want to go through call-on-doc, does anyone know if I can order one test via quest and another via LabCorp without paying double the fees, as it seems ultrasensitive via quest isn't worth the hassle.

I think they only do LC.
You can specify any test you want in the comment section when you submit your form.

I explored this option a long time ago, but the risk that my insurance will decline me was not something i was willing to take.

That was my second option, their Testosterone, Free and Total, MS ($11) and their Testosterone, Total, MS ($15) should be both uncapped right?

Gotcha, the only reason I considered this is cuz I know my insurance most likely covers it. I guess we'll know on Monday. They do have working hours on Weekends but unsure if that includes the lab department.

Its not so simple.

First the medical provider has to be in network / covered by insurance.
2nd the lab has to be covered (LC or Quest always is).
Third different coverage applies for each test. Some test like apo(b) is rarely covered for instance..

Lol the US is a mess sometimes..

It's so fucked up, I technically can't order a basic CBC directly from the lab in NJ/NY. God forbid I want to check my health.

Every time I order from GL for example I have to put a CT address and hope my local LabCorp doesn't ask any questions. First time using quest tho to do this if I go with GL.

That's ridiculous. I live in California, which often overregulates. However, I can go into any drug store and buy syringes without a prescription and order my own labs. Of course, I have to pay for the labs I order for myself since health insurance won't cover them.

Bruh I can’t even order proper syringes from most sites. From the 10 sites I have, only a few allow me without a prescription.

Ofc I can probably get some generic ones from amazon if I’m lucky but they fucking suck imo.

Smaller gauges idm, painful but I can handle it, but I ain’t going 27g with smth that isn’t as sharp as a BD needle. Made a huge difference for me pain wise.
