My weight loss log/journey!

Good evening, everyone. I hope all is well!

I've decided I finally want to start a public log of my progress thus far. This will be an informative post about my journey, where I'm at, and where I plan to be. I'm very excited to finally be putting it into words.

For some basic information, I am
- 21 years old, male
- Born and raised in South Florida
- 5ft 11"
- Majority muscle (with a fair amount of cellulite/visceral fat left + all the stretch marks to write home about!)
- Currently 236 LBs, down from 310 over the course of 14-15 months
- Diet is good, could use more protein daily though
- Water intake is 100-140oz/day

My goals
First and foremost, my main goals were always to "lose fat and get a smokin' hot bod!" however, my thoughts have shifted. Looking past societal idealism and bullshit normality, I've shifted my focus to wanting to change for myself, and my current/future health. I want to feel good, enjoy looking in the mirror, and most of all, not feel so fucking weighed down 25/8.

My current goals, within view, are of the following
- Reach 200 LBS
- Continue building lean mass and getting toned
- Mitigate against loose skin/more stretch marks
- Create a better quality of life for myself, one that doesn't involve low energy and feeling sluggish all the time
- Heal my body from the inside out
- Better my eating habits permanently

and of course, there's surely a few things I can't think of, but c'est la vie, haha.

Now, I'll give you a little backstory of my life leading up to this journey.

I wasn't always obese - when I was younger (under 11 years old), I was actually pretty fit! Now this may sound typical, but when the good ol' parents split up, I turned to food as an emotional crutch so to say, and boy oh boy was it there for me. Want some serotonin? Eat. Feeling anxious? Eat. Bored? Eat. It has been a cycle that has been absolutely abysmal to deal with. I gained over 100 LBs during COVID because I was making money, and ordering food. Tons of it. Not my proudest moment. Regardless of such, at the time of COVID, my nana had fallen ill with pancreatic cancer. I stayed up in Connecticut with her (at the ripe age of 16) to take care of her, cause nobody else would. My nana was always overweight, and well, that seems to have caught up with her. One day, she asked me if I'd make her a promise. She asked that I start taking care of myself because she didn't want me to turn out like her, or anyone else who's plagued by health issues from being obese. For reference, I loved my nana with all my heart. She was brilliant. I was with her till the very end. My one regret was not being able to lock into the grind and show her what I was capable of.

Well nana, hope you're proud of me now. I'm gettin' there. To say that I'm doing this for her wouldn't be a longshot, it's half of the battle really. But the other half is for me. Cause "I" WANT to feel good, look good, and witness what I'm capable of to the fullest extent. Now, enough of the backstory! Let's get back into it.

Progress so far

As of right now, I'm weighing in at 236 LB's. My starting weight was 311.4 LB's, on the dot, around 11 months ago, give or take. I lost 70 of those LB's naturally, up to around 250, which I've been plateaued at for roughly 4 months. Sooner than later, I got into the peptide world and started exploring. Researching. I loooooooove research, so it took me real deep into it. I'm also majoring in neurochemistry & pharmacology, so I was certainly intrigued. After long, I decided I was going to start Retatrutide. I started reta about one month ago from today, and the effects have been phenomenal. I've been able to re-learn my eating habits for the better, changed my whole lifestyle, and stuck myself with a needle! (never thought I'd do that lmao). I've titrated up to 2.5MG's every Sunday/Thursday, so 5 MG's per week. I think this is a good spot right now, but only time will tell. Another reason for this log.

Something else I started recently (5 days ago) was 5-Amino-1MQ. It doesn't have the most research done on it, but it has a very specific function of inhibiting NNMT, which plays a primary role in fat cells, so, do some research on it if you're interested or feel free to ask. Also gives me good natural energy, so I like it. On top of that, I've added the last component to my stack, being Tesamorelin. This one I can't really comment on yet, as it's only been two days, but I will certainly update this log accordingly.

For the past few months straight, I've been very consistent with weight training, roughly 6x per week at the gym. However, only about a month and a half ago did I really start getting on the cardio grind. Now, I'm doing 30 mins on the stair master as soon as I wake up, coming home, eating, digesting, then going back to the gym for strength training, and cardio after on the treadmill. I've got my schedule pretty much locked down and it's certainly a good feeling. My appearance has improved greatly, with a lot more muscularity. Even my 4 pack is startin' to show! Let's root for an 8, lmao.

ANYWAY, I know this post is very, very long, but I appreciate anyone and everyone who takes the time to read it through. I know I'm new here, but I certainly hope I can bring something to the table for you all. Whether that's entertainment, motivation, or the latter, I'm glad either way.

In the meantime, I'm going to post a log every Sunday/Thursday, or in between in case something happens, or changes.

I'm going to attach my most recent bloodwork to this post so that I can compare and contrast in the future.

That's it for now - I'm greatly, greatly appreciative of everyone's support, advice, feedback, etc. If you read all the way here, I thank you kindly for your interest in my journey. This hasn't been easy, not in any regard, but if not for me, for my nana.

Have a wonderful day/night, and I look forward to loggin' and chattin' with you all.
All love!

Congratulations on prioritizing your health. The best part is you’ve made the decision early in life and have plenty of time to figure things out. Take the time to enjoy the process so it doesn’t become a chore. Sounds like you are on the right track.

Thank you, my friend. My health is of upmost importance to me and I plan on continuing on this path till I reach my goals, then going further, and further, till it's simply embedded into my way of life. I do love it after all. And don't worry, I remind myself every day how much I enjoy this process. When something is hard, the human mind automatically goes to "this sucks", but I think when it's hard, it's good. There's no point in any true achievement if it ain't hard.

Good afternoon, everyone, hope all is well. I greatly appreciate the feedback I've gotten since making my initial post here. Now, I'm one day late for my first log of this post, so do excuse me, haha. Yesterday was busy.

Anyway though - yesterday, I weighed in at 238.8. Thinking I gained a little water weight from getting started on the Tesamorelin, but that's fine. I'm honestly liking the effects so far, although minimal. To my knowledge, it takes 2-6 weeks to see real results with it, but I'm mainly utilizing that for the visceral fat reductive properties.

As for my Retatrutide dosing, my last dose was yesterday, at roughly 2.5MG's. I do this twice a week, totaling at 5MG's per week now. This is my 9th injection, so past a month now. The only side effect I can mention is some minor heartburn/acid reflux after jumping from 2MG's to 2.5, however, this is no problem. I'll accept side effects if it means I've got such a powerful chemical working on my side to help this process move along swimmingly.

I've reached the week mark of dosing 5-Amino, and am also enjoying those results. Since starting this, I've noticed a pretty decent reduction in my waist. It doesn't just spill out now - it's starting to shape into that V, minus the love handles of course ;) I'm also noticing more muscle definition when I'm fully relaxed. Arms are popping a bit, and traps are fuckin beastly.

I love this process and look forward to continuing to share my progress/process with you all.
