I was thinking about this the other day. I was praying for Stan and his health issue and it occurred to me how different these connections are that we make in this area of the hobby. Most any other hobby community would be able to come together and send the guy a card with get well wishes or something like that, yet we can't do that kind of thing. Same with MrRedpill. We can all pray for/think about the guy, but no one has any means of actually checking up on him. Then I realized that maybe it's this level of anonymity that makes me comfortable getting involved in the community as much as I do. Never a risk of getting to know anyone too well.

Yeah I think about them often as well. At least we know what happened to Redpill in some fashion. Stan is afraid to disclose what’s wrong with him to his most ardent admirers in fear of literal prison. It’s a sad, strange relationship we all form with each other, but as shitty as it can be sometimes, anonymity is paramount.

I'm a recluse by choice. I just need to complete (start) my home gym and I won't ever have to leave our property. People are noisy and chaotic elements to me. I bought 100 acres on a dead end road in a tiny town in a rural area just so I could have some peace and seclusion. Internet friends are enough for me.
