He's conflating tariffs with stricter customs enforcement.

De minimus was ending, and tighter controls were coming regardless of who was elected. It's been well documented.

No one was intentionally allowing illegal products to enter the country, it was a side effect of de minimus. So many packs arriving it overwhelmed the system.

Anyway, that poor dude is an addict, you can see from his posts. and I think his freak out is the fear of loss of access to drugs he's been using to prop himself up. 600mg/day Modafinil for one.

How do you get addicted to Moda? Does it give a high at that dose?

The addiction is to Kraton, which is becoming a big problem in the US apparently, some people spending $100+ / day on it. Hits opioid receptors and as strong an addiction as heroin can develop.

I'm guessing the moda is used to make it through the day, but over 400mg only gives people headaches and no further benefits.

Kratom has changed my wife's life. She had a serious car accident, failed back surgery (partial fusion with rods and springs, don't ask me exactly what's going on there, but her back looks crazy on x-rays and other imaging) and just a few months after that, she was rear ended pretty back at a red light. She has trouble walking, uses a cane, and has been in chronic pain for over 2 decades. Over that time she'd been on nearly every opioid painkiller, usually multiple painkillers, along with nerve pain drugs. Her doses were very high, and the MME (morphine miligram equivalent) of the drugs she was taking got as high as 300mg/day at one point. She could still hardly function from a pain level perspective, would fall asleep randomly throughout the day, and suffered from memory and cognitive impairment. To make a long story short, she planned to try switching over to medicinal Marijuana once it was legalized in our state, and was in the process of doing so when she met someone with a Kratom success story. Fast forward to now, and she's taking only Kratom for her pain for the past 4 years. She has a powder form that she mixes with hot water and lemon juice, and while it tastes like dirt, it's been nothing short of miraculous for her. Gone are the random sleep spells where she would doze off constantly all day. Her memory has greatly improved, as has her cognitive functioning. Her pain level is, at minimum, 20% better than even her best pain relief from opioids. Another side effect from the opioids that I forgot to mention earlier was severe constipation, the point of her being in the hospital twice for blockages. She would barely use the restroom twice a week. Now, she's typically able to go every day, with occasional days where she doesn't, but again, a significant improvement. Her life is better in every quantifiable way on Kratom when compared to opioids. The chronic pain forums are replete with stories like hers; people in serious, legitimate pain who've had their lives significantly improved by Kratom.

As with many things, Kratom has the potential for abuse. I'm sick and tired of the government coming in to regulate or ban every single thing that has abuse potentials, especially when that same thing also benefits a great many people. We need to get back to the idea of personal responsibility, and move away from this nanny state bullshit mentality that says we need big brother to make laws to protect us from ourselves. We've already lost a great many freedoms, and the slippery slope will only continue.

thank you for sharing that. her experience tracks with mine as well. i have friends that were able to kick percocet habits and suboxone therapy with the help of kratom. from what i gather, it is certainly not a 1:1 replacement, but it does stand in and target the same receptors for relief.

with as dangerous as it has become out there, i wish more people had access and awareness to Kratom not less. but like you eluded to, i routinely read about efforts where states are trying to ban it.

It's Trump's bull . No Americans voted for that Mxtherfxcker to pay tariffs. Which is a tax on Americans. It's punishing us not other countries . Yet they're bragging about all the money the his gov is getting from it. What to pay for his stupid ass ballroom he wants built on the Whitehouse. I hope this don't FxCk up packs coming through.
He enacted tariffs in his first administration, and when he ran in 2024, he pledged even higher ones.

If no Americans voted for that MxtherfXcker to pay tariffs, then no Americans were paying attention, which is not surprising.

Correct, this is the issue, and it would have ended regardless of Trump's election.

Nevertheless, I thought it was both Democrat and Republican administration policy for decades now to allow prescription drugs to enter the country for personal use (up to 90 days).

Is that not so?

It is, and if you get an FDA or DEA love letter you can present them with your prescription, let them know what dr. is treating you, etc, and make your case to get the medications released.

All of my packages cleared customs! Can't believe it. As for de minimus, too much fentanyl has been shipped this way. Or was! Plus many other hard drugs. Steroids are just a victim to this. More people die a year from Tylenol overdoses then PEDS....

Most people are ordering from India because they don't want to go through their doctors tho lol..especially for controlled sleeping meds

It can be a game changer for some people even who have full prescriptions. A great example is Jardiance. You can get the exact same, full boehringer-ingelheim brand for about 1/4 of the price even with most insurances and even less expensive if you use the generic Indian version.

Things like this can be a huge lifesaver for people on limited budgets or no insurance.

I just don't believe this fentanyl shit.

Regardless, even if it was an epidemic - we're talking about drugs where 10mg equals like 1,000 doses.

How do you prevent the importation of a drug that potent? You can fill up a ball point pen with 100,000 doses.

You are correct . Tylenol and ibuprofen are the most overdosed medications in the US .
