Just a PSA for any on blood thinners

Halfway through the first cycle of Anavar (started at 5mg, went to 10mg, back down to 5mg after INR test). I've been taking Coumadin for many years, as I have Factor 5 Leiden and Factor II deficiency (meaning I am prone to blood clots, hence the anticoagulation). I did plenty of research beforehand, but apparently, Var interacts with Coumadin to the point where dangerous INR levels can occur. I have never seen this posted anywhere, so I wanted to post my own PSA. Please be vigilant in tracking your INR. AAS are always a risk, but be intelligent with your approach, especially with pre-existing conditions or if you take other meds.

Have some on the way (if it ever ships ). Was going to start a cycle, as I'm soon to be 41, possibly starting peri and an ever increasing misanthrope. Aside from physical gains, others have reported it helps with mood, energy, etc so hopefully the same applies to me.

why are you on coumadin? thats like the old annoying one with frequent blood tests?

Are you concerned about the test raising your hemoglobin/hematocrit? I have a buddy who’s had a blood clot (7years ago) and currently on pradaxa. This is his major concern before starting TRT.

this is very individual, mine has never been near out of range even on high doses of testosterone i think its genetics or lifestyle related. probably sleep apnea or dehydration, maybe this is flawed logic, but most of the people i see talk about these things are out of shape middle aged guys on TRT.

Yep. So annoying. Had a PE when I was 25, have been on it since. Factor V Leiden and Factor II deficiency (yay me ). I think the clot was triggered by birth control but they want you on anti coagulants as a precaution after a PE.

I could switch to a newer medication but the one thing that keeps me on coumadin is that it can be reversed if I ever bleed internally. If INR is stable, I can get away with once a month bloods. At first it was once a week.

I am aware of the risks and will be vigilant with monitoring bloods, plus ordering additional on my own if pcp decides to be stingy. Starting at super low dose, 1mg test prop ED. It's my understanding that if he's already stable and anticoagulated, he should be ok but it's definitely something to be aware of
