Pierced vial shelf life

Hey Guys,

I’m wondering what everybody’s opinions are on how long a vial, after you’ve already pierced the stopper, will stay good for when stored properly.

Thanks

Used one for up to nine months. Not an endorsement.

My technique is good. Ymmv.

If you were perfectly sterile in your process, and thus introduced no bacteria into the vial, and the stopper resealed fully, it really shouldn't affect shelf life in any appreciable way when compared to a virgin vile. Using a smaller gauge drawing needle can help ensure the integrity of the stopper seal. There are also vial seal stickers that can help keep everything sealed up.

I saw that error after my edit window had expired and had hoped no one would notice. It's ironic that I spelled it correctly the other times, but turned it into some kind of oxymoron with "virgin vile"
Your extreme eye for detail and providing excellent content doesn't go unnoticed. I really appreciate it.

My horrible self image is convinced this is a friendly jab, but I'll be optimistic and assume it a genuine complement and say thank you. I really enjoy the finer details of things, however inconsequential they may sometimes be. I, too, appreciate your posts and your tireless efforts to keep sources accountable.
