First Real Cut Log

I'm a little over 2 months into this cut and wanted to start logging to help me remember where I've been and keep focused on where I'm going. I'm also looking for advise or encouragement as I go. Sorry if i flood this with too munch info. I want to detail this as much as possible. I'll try to put it in sections so you can skip to whatever part you want. Going to try to log every week or two on progress and stuipid shit I'm planing on doing to speed up progress.

The whole point of starting this cut a few months ago was to get as lean as possible, and get in a really good lean bulk. I'm hoping to hit 50 in the best shape of my life.

My Background
I'm 47, been lifting off an on for about 20 years. Most of my lifting over that time was casual, ppl split, and never really worried about diet. I just wanted to have a little size and burn off all those nachos a little better. I was never jacked, but always had decent size and strength. I was never really fit though. More of a construction worker or farm strength type build. Through my 20s and mid 30s I was probably bouncing around 20%-25% BF at around 220lbs. After kids in my late mid 30s I started slowing down and would hover around 250lbs. I'd spend a few years working in the gym and push from around 30-35% BF back down to 25-30%. Something in life would happen and I'd back off in the gym and transition strong/fat to just fat. I'd get my shit together and work it back down over a few years. I probably did this 3 or 4 times.

When I hit around 43 or so I hit a wall. Covid had all the gyms shut down and I got fat as fuck. A few years later I tried to get my shit together but was so fat I really struggled to get back into a rhythm. I was tired and weak as shit. Going up stairs had me out of breath bad. At this point I was pushing 290lbs. Got myself checkout out and it turns out I had a heart issue that I was born with that got worse over time. It was causing me to miss a lit of heartbeats. I got a pacemaker and almost instantly got my energy back. I started getting my shit together in the gym trying to get my fat ass back in shape.I got my pacemaker in fall of 2023. At this point I was fat as fuck at almost 290lbs. I don't think I realized how fat I was. It's hard to explain but when you get fat over time you almost still see yourself as you were before you were fat. Every once in a while you see a picture of yourself that wakes you up to reality. That Christmas in 2023 I saw a picture someone took and was pretty disgusted.

Progress up to Starting This Cut
I started walking trying to get my strength back. We have a gym at work and I started going during lunch to try to get my muscles back. I lifted all 2024 and started getting back in shape. I wasn't really dieting but I was trying to watch what I eat. Over 2024 I went from 290lbs to about 250lbs. I started backing off some and settled around 260lbs between 30-35% BF I think.

I got on TRT around July of 2024. I was on 80mg/wk which put me around 750 Test. I tried going higher and I was too fat to handle it and my E2 was too hard to control. I fucked around with it for a while and stayed around 80mg/wk.

In the beginning of 2025 I started getting more serious and started tracking calories and working harder. By the end of February I was about 250lbs and maybe under 30%BF. I set a goal to get under 20% and started this hard cut the last week of February.

Cut Progress 3/1/2025 - 4/15/2025 (all BF measurments are from an InBody Scanner. may be off on accuracy but should show general trends)
Diet - about 1800 - 2000 calories a day. Protien 200-250 grams/day
Lift 6 days/wk.
Cardio 2 days a week
Added Tirz 2.5mg/wk 4/1
Bumped test to 100mg/wk
Starting Weight 250lbs, 27.5% BF
Ending Weight 225lbs, 20% BF

Cut Progress 4/15/2025 - 5/16/2025

I started with really focusing on health a couple months ago. I want to bump up the test and add in whatever can get me more progress on this cut, but want to start from a good place. Also want to be in good shape for a bulk cycle later. Saw my Dr and got put on telmesartin 40mg/day. BP was running a little high and I wanted to get it low normal before I start doing shit that can raise it. I also got baseline bloods. My doc is pretty cool so I explained what all I'm planning to make sure they were aware when treating me for anything else that comes up.

Baseline Bloods:

Suppliments:
Test increased to 150mg/week, then 200 and finally 250.
Added GH and titrated up to 4iu a day.
Tirz at 5mg/wk
Started taking NAC and Tudac
Upped Fish Oil dose
Zinc 50mg/day
Magnesium 400mg/day
CoQ10

I've been on 250mg/wk test for 3 weeks
Added 200mg Primo last week to see where that puts my E2 with this test. (Bloods are in 5 weeks)
I started 25mg/day anavar because I'm dumb and had a lot. Last week I was at 50mg/day. I actually stopped this week and saving it until I get to a much lower BF. Was kind of fun though. Especially preworkout.

Workout
45 min zone 2 fasted cardio after GH 4 days a week
Lift 6 days a week.

Diet:
Still not getting enough calories but InBody scanner showed no muscle loss over last couple months, and up 2 lbs of muscle in the last 2 weeks?
1800-2000 calories a day maintaining protein at lease 220g/day


That gets me up to current. My goal is to get sub 15% BF. I'm setting a goal of 12% but know I may not hit it. I'm going to keep this up until all progress stops and go maintenance for a few months before I try to bulk up.

Next bloods are June 6th. Depending in test/E2 I'd like to increase primo but i'll see where im at first. Been hitting it super hard so taking a recover week this week just doing morning cardio and abs. I'll continue to update progress as I go. I actually have been stalled out at my current weight for a few weeks but BF hs still be dropping now that I added in extra shit. I check every morning prior to fasted cardio and it seems pretty consistantly dropping.

I'll keep updating this journal as I go. It's been fun so far. I've been getting a lot of comments and a few accusations of "being on shit" based on my progress. Trying to be overall careful. Doc prescrived aromasin and anastrazole, dutesteride, finesteride, Ketoconzole shampoo and hcg. Not taking any of it but the shampoo now but want to have it all available just in case. This week I'm switching to UGL test so we'll see if i notice a difference. Pic in the blue shirt is the one that started this. Family sent it to me and I was disgusted. Last pic is a couple weeks ago. I need to do better about taking progress pics. Been researching the shit out of everything on this board and using chatgpt. Between the two I think im sorting through 90% of the bullshit and have a good idea of what i want to keep trying.

Orals are very fun, but you did the right thing cutting the anavar out. you are gonna get a far better look/ more noticeable effect once you are much leaner, or at least within reach of your 15-12% bf goal.

Thanks man. It was hard cutting the anavar but it was the right thing. I'm trying to keep reminding myself I'm in this for the long game. I've come a long way and there's no sense trying to rush things now when I know what's right. I knew better but got greedy. I appreciate the reassurance.
 
Just finished week 4 since stepping up the enhancements. This week was 250 test and 200 primo, and my last week of 50mg/day anavar.

I'm worn the fuck out and my sleep has been shit. My diet and training are pretty dialed in but I've been struggling with sleep for months. I fall asleep fine but wake up almost every night around 3am. Some nights it's for 30-60 minutes. Some nights I can't get back to sleep at all. I'm averaging 6 hours of sleep on good nights, and 5 on most of the others. I'm pretty sure I'm getting some kind of cortisol spike because when I wake up my mind is racing and sometimes my HR is up. I'm sure part of it is stress and thinking about all the shit I'm behind on. Up until a few months ago I ended each day with way too much bourbon. Haven't drank much at all in the last few months and none in the past 3 weeks. I'm sure part of my sleep issues are my body adjusting to that. I'm taking magnesium before bed, trying to avoid melatonin so my natural shit will start working again, and eating some carbs and fats before bed hoping to avoid a cortisol spike. Nothing big, just Greek yogurt with a little protein and chia seeds. If I could get my sleep dialed in I'd be unstoppable right now. Unfortunately I'm running on fumes and barely hanging on.

I heard phosphatidylserine (PS) is supposed to help with evening cortisol and I'm going to add it in. I get up at 415 most mornings. It sounds retarded but I'm going to try a therapy light in the morning to try to reset my natural rhythm too. This is going to be priority right now. I'm also taking a week off lifting trying to rest and maybe get my sleep in order.

As stated this week I started 200mg/wk primo with my 250mg/wk test. I'm new to primo and I've read everything from 2/1 ratio, 3/1 ratio and don't bother with anything under 400mg/week. With bloods coming in 4 weeks I think I'm going to be sensible and back it to 100mg/week now, and keep the test at 250. I should probably see how my E2 is responding before I start getting greedy with it. Especially since I don't have any experience and know what to watch for if things are getting out of whack. I've dealt with high E2 when I was starting TRT a year ago and was fatter. I'd prefer to see data from bloods before I change anything but if it starts feeling bad I may try a 0.25mg anastrozole and reassess the plan.

Pics are from today. 2 weeks after last picture and sitting around 17% BF based on InBody scan. Last picture should have been closer to 20% if I remember. Definitely noticed the love handles are starting to fade more.

You might be waking up just as your body gets used to the change in anabolics. I think you should just stick it out with the doses your on until you get your blood work.

I wouldn’t shy away from melatonin. It’s a powerful anti inflammatory on top of the sleep assistance.

Thanks man. I've been struggling with sleep for a while now. Actually started to get it dialed in this week focusing on blunting my midnight cortisol spike. Been averaging six and a half hours of sleep or so now, which is a lot from what I'm used to.

I was planning on holding the current test/primo dose until bloods but Monday and Tuesday I felt like shit. Could have been from sleep but just felt dead to the world. Zero motivation, not really depressed but just emotionally numb to everything and overall unhappy. It was a big change from how I normally feel. I'm pretty sure my E2 was low and as much as I wanted to confirm with labs I couldn't wait 2 weeks. Felt like dog shit.

I pin Sundays and Wednesdays, so Wednesday I pinned 200mg test and 40mg primo just to try to rebalance things. I felt way better by the next day. Not 100% for sure, but a noticeable difference and something I can live with until labs. Going to try 300/150 split twice a week going forward to see where that puts me at my labs in 3 weeks. Won't be fully saturated by then from this change but I hope I get enough info to have an idea of how I'm responding to the mix. Then I can go up from there. Planning on pretty frequent labs for this since I don't have experience to fall on. I'm hoping to learn what works best for me and be able to put numbers from bloods to how I'm feeling for next cycle.
 
Just finished my rest week. Week 5 into the hard cut.

Thursday weigh in and body scan: 220.7lbs 15.8%BF.

I'd like to get down another 10lbs and see where I'm at. I'm getting more comments at work about how much I'm leaning out. Got some lower back fat and love handles that need to go.

Still feeling my way through this. Still running off all the research I can find and relying pretty heavily on chatgpt to gage risk/reward. Fucking chat gpt changes advice every time I review protocols so trying my best to narrow down what's good and what's shit. Making good progress so I'm going with it.

Protocol and changes as of today:
Daily calorie/protein between 1800-2000/230-250
Test/primo from 250/200 to 300/150 to help manage E2
GH 4iu morning
Tirz from 5mg to 7.5 mg
Finished cycle of glow (ghk-cu, bpc-157, and tb500)
Started a tapered prednisone dose to deal with nasty shoulder bursitis.

For liver post anavar I'm still taking split daily:
6 caps fish oil (2000mg eha/dha)
Nac 1200mg
Tudca 1000mg
1000mg taurine
Zinc 50mg
Vitamin D
50mg day dhea

For sleep I'm taking:
400mg phosphatidylserine (PS)
400mg magnesium
3g glycine
20mg pregnenolone suppliment (morning)

Don't need tirz because I'm full of fucking pills!



Been working my ass off and I was starting to run out of gas. Took a week to recover some energy. Hit fasted cardio 3 days this week before work. Still staying on track getting out the door in the morning by 5am to work it in. Focused on isolation work for biceps and triceps, moderate back workout and hit legs hard. Only did about 5-6 sets per group this week and took the weekend off. Sleep significantly improved through the week but took a dive last night. Only got 3 hours and up since 1am. Hopefully tonight is better.

Shoulder is keeping me from working chest as much as I'd like. Starting doing shoulder PT exercises to help open up shoulders and relieve bursitis.

Noticed this week that I was getting hungry as hell. Most likely from starting the prednisone run for my shoulder. Upped the tirz to 7.5mg from 5. 5 has had me stuffed up until starting the prednisone so hopefully can drop tirz back down after. I want to set myself up for success but don't want to completely eliminate the personal growth of mastering some will power too so I'm trying to keep the tirz low as possible.

Going back to regular gym routine this week. Goal of 4 days fasted cardio, isolation work during the week at the work gym, and heavier compound work Friday and Saturday. Aiming for at least 12 sets a week per group. I'm probably working harder than I need to in the cut to preserve muscle. I want to get in good routines when I move over to bulking and want to normalize working myself to complete failure. Plus the pump is getting amazing.

Didn't get decent update pics this week but don't think there's huge changes. Spent the weekend doing farm work and property clean up now that the weather is better. Wife took a picture where the shadows were hitting just right. I'll upload that for this week's update since it's probably the best I've looked in a picture. Still motivated as fuck keep pushing. Turn 48 in a week and feeling pretty good!

Forgot to include that I finally tried a VG pin and I wish I would have tried that a long time ago. I've been pinning delts for a year now and now that I'm pushing a little more oil it was getting uncomfortable. My wife usually pins me because I'm a little bitch about stabbing something into me that deep. Manned up a few weeks ago and tried to self pin VG but followed shitty directions and pinned in the middle of my hip flexor. Limped around for a week. I've been pretty gun shy after that. Yesterday I said fuck it and was more confident about the right location so I tried again. Went super slow because for some reason in my mind I'm more worried about stabbing something that is really painful. If I go slow I can stop if it starts hurting like a MFer. The only thing I felt was a prick on the skin and then nothing. No pain, no soreness the next day. Damn, should have been doing this a long time ago. Probably not a big deal for everyone here but getting over that mental hurdle of pinning myself was huge for me.

It was a huge mind hurdle for me to pin VG. For some reason because I’m not looking at it the way I would on my delt or quad it’s way worse lmao. But it definitely feels smoothest.

Visually I don't see a huge difference over last week but I've noticed I'm getting way more vascular in my shoulders, and bicep veins are coming out easier. Not just when I have a heavy pump.

I've got labs coming this Friday. Depending on test/E2 levels I might go to 400/200 test/primo. I'm making good progress now and don't know if I need the higher dose but I'd really like to learn more about how I respond to different doses. I'll probably keep pushing it up over the next few months for that reason. Would be good when I start trying to put some mass on later to not go into it blind.

I've noticed now that I've got a lot of loose skin around my belly that's probably going to keep me from getting the look I want. Hopefully it tightens up more as I go. Going to get on ghk-cu and a few other peptides to try to help that.

Don't see a huge change but I'll upload weekly progress pics. Found an Pic from 2 years ago before I started that really shows how far I let myself go. That definitely helped motivate me to push harder seeing that before and after again. Also throwing in a pic from a hike this week that had my shoulder veins popping. I'm sure most of y'all are used to that but it's new for me. My shoulder is starting to get better. Been holding me back from working chest hard for months. Need a lot of work there so it will be nice to work compound lifts again. Turned 48 a couple days ago and feel pretty good.

good work, but the loose skin isn't likely going to just "tighten up" and go away with the use of "peptides" , if only ,,
 
Thanks man. Yeah, I kind of figured on the loose, skin. I'm hoping I can help a little but age is working against me. Hopefully it doesn't end up being too bad

I've been drinking a ton of electrolytes and I could tell I was holding water. Stopped that mid week and dropped from 217 to 211 this morning. Face looks way less full.

Just got labs yesterday. Waiting for all the results but planning on upping test/primo to 400/200 starting Sunday. Got lipids back and HDL is still recovering post anavar but it's only been 2 weeks. Baseline was 61 and I'm currently 45. Same with ALT. Baseline was 32 and currently 58. I'll give it another 6 weeks or so and retest. I'm looking forward to getting on that anavar again when I'm leaner, but want to start from a good baseline again. I'll post up test igf1 and E2 numbers when they come in.

I can definitely notice less love handles this week over last. Tried 50mg TNE pre-workout today for fun and was a little underwhelmed. I felt more focused and intense but nothing beyond strong pre-workout. Might try 75mg next week. Was a little worth about pip. I'm assuming it had guaiacol since it smells like roundup. No issues at all with reaction though.

This coming week I may up the tirz back to 7.5mg. I'm definitely getting hungrier and it's harder to resist snacking. Right now I haven't eaten anything that hasn't been weighed for almost 3 months but it's getting to be more of a struggle.

Really appreciate all the support here by the way. This shit is hard but the grind actually feels pretty good. Can't wait to see how lean I can get.

try 100 mg of tne , then you will get the "full effect" , i personally do only .7 ml is my sweet spot, but i have done 100 mg doses with different types of tne, all the ones i have used had a small amount of guac in it, The "good stuff" has a lil guac in it, lol ,, ;)

Thanks man. I was thinking about trying .75 mg tomorrow to see how it hits.
