HGH sleep issues

About a month in on ugl GH, 4iu every night before bed, 2hrs after dinner. First couple weeks it knocked me out all night. Past couple weeks I've been wide awake at 3am every night. Almost feels like a cortisol spike. Wondering if I should ride it out, switch to am, or if anyone has had the same experience or knows the possible science behind this regarding the gh interactions with prolactin, progesterone or adrenals.

i tried 750/200 mg last night and i didnt sleep well , and was actually "over it" 1/2 hour earlier than my alarm ,, I will try again,

Consider trying Magnesium Threonate. It crosses the blood brain barrier and counteracts cortisol induced arousal, which rHGH can cause. Take 2g (usually 2 or 3 capsules) an hour before bed.

I've been setting 2 alarms or I risk sleeping through the first. Not because it makes you drowsy like a Z sleeping pill, I'm very refreshed once up, it just makes being in bed feel 10x more comfortable than usual. Sleep tracker shows significantly improved sleep.

For some it's a game changer, others not so much. Maybe it's related to magnesium deficiency in the brain, but for me, there's nothing at all subtle about it. Feels like it should be schedule II, not on the store vitamin shelf.

Any idea how it compares with glycinate? Apparently that also crosses the BBB but unfortunately doesn't help in my case while on HGH.

I used glycinate (and still do because I have some left over). Glycine is an effective sleep aid, makes you drowsy, helps you stay asleep, but the magnesium in it mostly doesn't enter the brain. Threonate is unique in the way it floods the brain with magnesium, and calms excited neurons, promoting sleep depth and quality by a different mechanism. Threonate is the most expensive form of magnesium (it's patented by MIT), but well worth every penny. It has other terrific effects I won't go into here, but I'll probably never go without it again.

Because of different mechanisms of action they pair VERY well. One tablet of Glycinate and two capsules of Threonate are extremely potent without leaving you drowsy the next day.

Was always skeptical about supplements that claim to have dramatic effects, but Threonate (and to a lesser degree glycinate) are the exception.

A few days after posting my experience with Threonate here I got messages like this from half a dozen guys, and everyone I've turned on to it is a convert:

I know I sound like a shill for this but so many struggle with sleep this may be what they need. MIT researchers could see large parts of the brain "light up" as magnesium Threonate was quickly taken up by tissues. They think there may be a significant magnesium deficiency isolated to the brain in many people. I use Sports Research brand from Costco, but there are many others, and they should all be equivalent since they're all using the same active ingredient "Magtein".

i currently take mag glycinate , ALA, L-Theanine, Gaba, trazadone, i been taking the traz for 10+ years , its only thing that works for me, , thats my nighttime lineup,,
Is it staying asleep that’s your problem?

I use mag biglycinate + mag Threonate like @Ghoul is talking about and found it helped me stay asleep better than just glycinate. I also take 3g of glycine in a cup of whole milk with collagen peptides which have another 3g glycine in them. The combo has given me better sleep than I’ve had in like 15 years. Don’t just jump to that high a dose of glycine, work up slow. I struggle with falling asleep and staying asleep.

I find taking 1g taurine helps if I wake up and I’m tossing and turning and hate my life. I try not to take it too frequently cause I’ve read impact gets blunted if used too much,

Is trazadone still as effective for you as when you started? I loved that drug but it gave me short term memory issues that scared the shit outta me and I had to drop it.

Sleep struggle brothers unite!

ok , ill try the Threonate version and definitely will look into glycine, any suggestions on that glycine?

It took like 4-6 months of using hgh for the negative sleep to kick out on hgh for me. Is it still bad with morning injections? I’ve read too many threads today so I apologize if you already answered this.

Thorne for quality, Nutricost for cost. I mix and match. Thankfully even the quality shit is very affordable. I ninja edited that last post with another suggestion too you might not have seen.

My sleep is very similar. Hope any of the suggestions help. Wouldn’t wish this crap on my enemies. Think it’s the thing limiting my growth the most.

Probably everyone should take magnesium because deficiency is rampant

But gotta manage expectations when it comes to sleep

Any form of magnesium, including the beloved threonate, has shit claims for improving any parameter of sleep

If you choose threonate, look for the branded ingredient Magtein -- at least you'll know what you're getting

do you use the "L-Glycine" form? or regular glycine? They have 1000 mg by nutricost, at a fair price,,

i just barely switched to a.m. injections so , its in adjustment period,,

Are you on trt with no HCG? I recommend using progesterone cream before sleep.
I’m on a blastish cruise, and I do use HCG but only 2x a week. Might the progesterone still help with sleep? I saw a combo with a cream and a capsule offered together at Biovea. Looks like the capsules are just 50mg pregnenolone? I have some of that somewhere already if that works. Thanks for any assistance! @Lord Commander

How much, and would the oral route be ineffective if that’s all I seem to find? Found plenty of pills, some injectable, but the “vaginal gels” are all out of stock :0)

Or should I just up (and stay consistent) with the HCG? I usually pin about 500iu twice a week but it’s a tough one to remember for me.

I had to go to AM.dosing...even split dosing screwed my sleep up. Went to am and sleep fine now.

It’s so interesting how the very same compound has so different effects on people. It’s literally my number one substance for sleep. It also seems to help with all the usual side effects I get from gear. I can run everything higher with less side effects if I take 2-3 IUs right before bed time.

Morning EOD is the most tolerable for me, but it still significantly disrupts sleep quality, unfortunately.

I've reached the point where I'm unwilling to put up with it as the sleep issues affect my mood (far more than anything steroid), so I've removed it from my protocol. :(
This is where I currently stand as well. Im about to try one more time with something different.
