US Postal Service suspends incoming packages from China, Hong Kong

And there will then be customs duties which will add to the cost of your shipment. In addition Chinese companies like Shein, Wish and Temu which sell consumer items will have to switch to private carriers which indeed will increase shipping costs potentially to the point it's not worth it.

Nah, local warehouse prices from them have always been only slightly higher. Those are goods shipped the normal, commercial route, paying import duties. They have already acquired tens of millions of square feet of warehouse space.

Legit cheap Chinese crap will just be slightly less cheap Chinese crap with duties imposed. State taxes will cause a bigger increase than duties for most.

Bro, what the fuck with this guy.

There was no "pushback" causing the change. The article makes no mention of it.

They said it was temporary.

And this is why:

They said it was a suspension. Likely to figure out how to process Chinese mail like small packs in cargo containers in accordance with Biden's exec order that went into effect.

For a minute it looked like China mail, vs packs in shipping containers like Yunexpress, were actually going to be a workaround and not subjected to greater scrutiny. CBP commented on this a week ago.

They saw the new loophole, and closed it before it could open.

Ever since QSC disappeared my pessimism has been high.

It ought to be. They say they'll send "slowly" because of increased identification.

Because a pack moving fast might catch their attention I guess, lol.

My mind immediately. thought lots of "slow moving packs" allow you to collect lots of orders before people realize they aren't getting their stuff.

This is the typical reaction from a government agency that is not prepared to execute haphazard implementation of new or unusual processes.

They simply shut-down like deer in headlights. And, of course, they still get paid anyway.

Any punitive action the US takes against China strengthens China’s long term position and damages US. Example the tariffs that were enacted by the first trump admin, China took some short term losses but they accelerated a longer term strategy they had to diversify the markets they depend on so they increased domestic production and put more effort into other trade partners. Meanwhile in the US businesses either ended up paying more or getting inferior products or both and the government had to give out subsidies to protect all the industries damaged by retaliatory tariffs. We came out on the losing end of that one. The inability of US leadership to manage their trade partners is not necessarily just one party. The Biden admin maintained most of the tariffs from the Trump admin.

"Any punitive action the us takes strengthens China and weakens the US"

Wow, sounds like a statement straight out of the Central Committee.

"We will facilitate the deaths of hundreds of thousands of your young people, steal your intellectual property, conduct broad based espionage against you, steal your intellectual property, pollute with abandon -and open new coal powered generating plants on regular basis enjoying cheap electricity, intrude on the territory of your allies, steal from their fisheries and harass them undermining. confidence in you, massively expand our military in preparation for a direct conflict with you and the violent conquest of democratic Taiwan, and convince the weakest among you that your best course of action is capitulation, and standing up in any manner to China would be a foolish and counterproductive."

Is that about right?

Where did you get your analysis by the way? Do you know who is more economically reliant on who? Or which economy is on the cusp of catastrophe?

Agreed. No way I'm placing any substantial orders before seeing some movement again.

If you're a peptide consumer you made the right decision. The zero pep saga has spun way out of control. A bunch of vendors have been selling dyed water instead of Lipo-C and NAD+ so obviously fake that it doesn't actually dissolve. It is a very bad time to be a buyer.
I haven't started my peptide journey yet but saw that a vendor I was considering purchasing other items from has been accused of exactly this. Not great admittedly.

We're finding out the hard way that most companies in this space are just resellers and the stuff they're selling is garbage. It's probably not intentional, they're just not doing any testing before they sell it to us.

I'm looking into Uther and Ronsen because they haven't been involved in any scandals (yet), but I'm wary. If you want to exit scam, after CNY is probably the second best time to do it.

I’d be leary of ordering from there for a while. I know I will take a rest from it and let others take the risk and continue to monitor. I might order from other countries not currently at odds with the U.S. on tarrifs, etc. but definitely smaller orders and nothing I can’t afford to lose.
