Has anyone ever had their stuff delivered to a random P.O. Box? Next town over, not delivered to the address I gave the shipper but tracking says it was delivered couple days ago to a P.O. Box

I recently had a simple magazine placed in my mailbox that was addressed to my neighbor. Mistakes happen all of the time with USPS.

Your source may have put the incorrect address on your package, or he may have given you the incorrect tracking number.

Anything show up on Informed Delivery?

Nothing the tracking showed in transit to next facility for like 3 days and then just delivered in some town an hour and a half away.

Contacted source and they’re gonna reship for free

The USPS has geo-location information for their deliveries. Go to your USPS office and take your tracking number. Ask them for the geo-location of the delivery and they can tell you where the package was when it scanned as delivered. Depending on the post office they will even attempt to retrieve the package for you.

This is good information and good insight, but I do not think it's a good idea to go looking for a package that contains illegal content. To many eventualities could surface and some may not be in your favor.

The alternative is it gets opened by some random person?? then what

There is a good chance it's already been opened by the random person. About a year ago I had a UPS package delivered to my front door. I automatically picked it up and opened (I was expecting a few packages from amazon that week). Inside was some special nuts and bolts. Turns out the package was for my neighbor (who was restoring an older corvette), a few streets over. I had no ill or nefarious intensions by opening the package. I just erroneously assumed it was from amazon. Clearly there is no right or wrong answer in this scenario. I am interested in how this ended

A lot of times what happens is the sender will handwrite the address but the label that prints out will be to a different address, the system fucks up. Then it gets delivered to the address on the label. If you abandon it, your name and address are still on the package. And the source opsec is screwed as well.
