Quitting Nicotine.

Sup meso. I know I been asking hella questions lately sorry if I’m annoying lol. Anyone else here got ways of quitting nicotine? At the moment I’m chewing nic gum it seems to be okay at the moment but the question is when am I going to stop? I’m not sure lol. Are there any benifits to nicotine is the body building world? I was vaping and last I heard vaping kills gains so that’s why I’m choosing to give it up

Vaping does not kill gains, neither does smoking cigarettes or cigars. Plenty of guys have gotten fucking yolked while smoking nicotine. Sure it might have negative health effects but it doesn’t just “kill your gains”.

Transition to no nic vape and soon you can stop. I used vape to cease smoking, took 18months.

Cold Turkey. It works and it’s the quickest an easy.

Don’t fool yourself into thinking a substitute will help.

All my buddies are more addicted to the gum and vapes and zyn Shit.

I’m more hooked on zyn than I ever was actual dip. I can walk into a site with a zyn. I can sit I. Church with one, I can watch my kids at a school play with one. It’s terrible.

I quit smoking cold Turkey. Absolutely sucked for a week, was rough for a couple months during certain times. Then nothing.

Be a man. Cold Turkey.

For anyone not on TRT, negative health effects, depending on which effects, automatically mean kill gains. Not cigarettes but vapes often do. Not to be the smartass here but many vape juices, especially if opioids and tryptamines are in the mix elevate prolactin. Now let me sound like a bible thumper except I'm thumping research articles: A cloud on the horizon–a survey into the use of electronic vaping devices for recreational drug and new psychoactive substance (NPS) administration

"The commonest recreational drug to have been vaped was cannabis with 155 (65.7%) reporting lifetime use and 91 (38.6%) reporting use within the last 30 days. Lifetime use was also high for vaping MDMA/’ecstasy’ (101, 42.8%), cocaine powder (94, 39.8%), mephedrone (73, 30.9%), crack cocaine (72, 30.5%), synthetic cannabinoid receptor agonists (67, 28.4%), fentanyl (63, 26.7%), heroin (61, 25.8%), alpha-PVP (alpha-pyrrolidinopentiophenone)(61, 25.8%), typtamines (60, 25.4%), NBOMe (2, 5-dimethoxy-4-bromophenethylamine) (59, 25%) and ketamine (58, 24.6%) (Figure 1). GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate) (1, 0.4%), Magic Mushrooms (1, 0.4%), Solvents (1, 0.4%) and LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide) (1, 0.4%) were also self-reported via free text entry to have been vaped by individual respondents."

Manning up and cold turkey is the only way.

Smoked whenever I was deployed, vaped any other time for close to a decade.
Eventually quit because it was negatively effecting my cardio, and gut (this is the big one no one talks about)

Despite what people say, smoking/vaping/nicotine all negatively effect performance and you will likely not realize until you stop entirely.

This. Plenty of juice and water to flush it out. The physical addiction is 3 days. The psychological is lifetime. I still LOVE the smell of cigars. 20 years after I quit smoking.

Im different, I abhor the smell of cigarettes now.

Clinically, most studies show abrupt cessation is superior to gradual cessation or via compensation using methods of substitution; gum, patch, etc...

In real life, abrupt cessation/just quitting, is the only way to go.

After decades off, I started lifting again a few years ago. I still smoke close to my 60s. It's disgusting, I can't stand the smell of it, it makes meals less satisfying and if I didn't do a fair amount of cardio, I'd be routinely grasping for breath, like the one time I used a gram of gear, like a fucking moron.

Can you still get jacked? Sure. But workouts are far less optimal in every metric.
You spend more time focusing on breathing than focusing on a mind/muscle connection. You stop short of failure more often due to lack of oxygen, and on and on.

Visit someone dying of lung cancer or emphysema, or go to a nursing home where there's the dude connected to an oxygen tank.
Ask him if he has a light..

You DO burn more calories smoking. lol
But you'd burn more healthy calories faster, just upping cardio and not smoking as well as turning on cold water for two minutes at the end of every shower.

Yea I will always love the smell of cigars and cigarettes. Ever since I was little my father smoked and I would always love the smell lol

Thanks for the input everyone. Yea I think the best idea is cold turkey but it is so fucked lol. I been addicted to nic for 11 years. But when the vapes hit it got so bad because I could smoke it everywhere literally anytime. I was using it every 10-30 mins. Using it working. In my room as soon as I wake up. But the gum seems to be okay for the time being. Planning to stop completely within a week or so. Because as someone said here it’s bad for your guts and apart of the reason I’m quitting is because my girlfriend has chrohns desease and every time I’m vaping it influences her and it effects her guts even more

I used patches to quit smoking and actually followed the instructions. 2 weeks step 1, 2 weeks step 2, and 2 weeks step 3.

I quit dipping for a year. Until my brain said “welp I finally quit. Now I can have a lip “.
Been dipping ever since that stupid mistake….

I’ve used the brand name patches before. The 24mg or 14 mg patch in my opinion are just disguised to get you addicted to them. They’ll get you more buzzed depending on your what current nicotine intake was at the time

I smoked for 16 years, quiting smoking was one of the best things I did for myself. You will have to commit to changing your mindset and habits if you want to quit indefinitely. It's easy to quit smoking, it's hard to not go back.

1. Quitting for someone else is no bueno
2. Find someone else
3. Don’t be a quitter.
4. This world has become softer than 8 ply charmin. Nothing but nancies around these days.
