Any mushroom fans around here?

I am talking about edible mushrooms but not the kind you might find on a pizza. I grow a batch or 2 a year and dive down the rabbit hole every now and then when the kids are away.

Just wondering if there are any people here that share my other hobby.

Ive been known to visit shroom town.

After a several year hiatus i blasted some cyanescens for the first time (historically ive only used cubensis and liberty caps). I got way too messed up, was sweating like crazy and felt like my body was going to explode at any moment.

It also took me back to being a teenager, i went through some emotional turmoil, revisiting emotions and thoughts that i hadnt felt in a long time. Stuff i had buried away, it came back up. To be honest it was a bit traumatizing, but such is the way of the mush.

Ive tried growing before, but my mycelium got eaten by some green mold before they got a chance to fruit. I did my best for sterilizing but evidently my best was not enough and unwanted spores still somehow got inside my crop and ravaged it.

9.9 times out of ten, the green death comes from a contam problem in the grain jars or bag, not after its put into fruiting conditions, or from the open air. Bump the PC time to 90min, and make sure the boiled grain is air dry before going into jars. Grain too wet is a recipe for disaster.
Pan Cyan along with Natalensis and a few others will certainly slap you upside the head in a healing sort of way.

I’ve tripped a couple times and loved it. It would completely rid me of anxiety. My last trip sucked though, but that’s more because of the environment I was in.

I’ve thought about tripping again a couple of times but I’m on psych meds so it’s most likely not a good idea (plus they would block it’s effects anyway).

I grew for awhile but stopped, I haven't taken any since I decided to do 5g of enigma over a year ago, it was an interesting experience that I don't need to repeat, I have so many shrooms in storage now to last me years.

I’ve heard enigmas are very strong

I was wondering about others who may share this hobby but wasn’t sure it would be accepted to post. Glad to see some likeminded folks.

I was a bit nervous to make the post myself but I didn't see anything in the rules so I went for it. I figured there had to be some others around here that also enjoyed the occasional mind vacation.

Oh nice. I bet that left you with a good story or 2.

I've grown a ton but I usually give a bunch away as well as take them with people who haven't ever taken them before. They can be a lot of fun to take with friends but I also think they can be useful for people who need to get over some trauma or other issues they are struggling with. So I try to help people do that.

yup love me some oysters etc ;) have an oyster and lions mane bed under the deck which is fun... also had beds of some Dif types back in college, everyone loved them ;).

love picking morels and oysters and others in the spring, some russula etc in fall is fun too. really like morels as tasty and nice way to get out in the spring before bugs are out and less brush easy to see and get around. like finding treasure get the dopamine hits ;) just need some good rain and season will start.

also like getting conks like reishi or red belted conk and some chaga and crappy specimens of oysters, lions mane etc and throw those into my home made bone broth. some vitamin D and terpenes I feel really kicks into healthy immune stimulating brew esp when sick, chinese even sell packs of medicinal mushrooms for making soup with.. dont think most medicinal mushrooms should be taken all the time as overstimulating immune response all the time isn't a good thing, also because they are basically antibiotics(penaccilin etc are all fungi), not great to take all the time. funny same crystal wearing folks hate antibiotics but will drink mushroom teas daily for "antibiotic" activity, such a funny disconnect as a tea is just an extract just like most antibiotics..

also pretty cool enoki grows in my back yard(just a few) and wear we took out a tree honey mushrooms pop up every year in the yard fairly prolifically and super tasty, like a portobello X shiitake..

Oh yeh my Martha tent helps fund my workout needs 8 trays at a time usually pe or pes amazonian or b+ I got nice plates I worked for a while so good yields
Very nice. My main is Golden Teacher...it's just easy and I'm the most confident with it. Right now I've also got some mazatapec growing. I live in Louisiana so I like to grown our treasure coast strain as well.

They really can help you out with stuff if you're willing to let them. I thought that sounded like total BS until it happened to me. Now our medical/mental fields in the U.S. are coming around to this idea.

I've had a few batches go bad on me. Sometimes I don't think you can help it. But usually if they've gone bad on me it's been batches I did during Summer when it's hard to keep it cool in the house. Those 100 degree days make it hard to keep the mycelium in the low 70s.

I’ve been micro dosing for about 90 days now. Trying to get off some anxiety meds I’ve been on for years. Been titrating meds down an so far so good. Feel a lot more clear headed and just a nice sense of well being.

Microdosing is beneficial for so many things. About to make a few hundred capsules today. Glad to hear it's helping you.

Yeah it’s quite a journey the last ten plus years managing panic attacks. I’m a sceptic but I can’t deny what’s been transforming so far
