The US was founded in 1783. By 1845 Manifest Destiny was commonly accepted, the idea that we in fact were meant to be an empire was in fact a founding principle. But you're talking about days of slaves and colonies and when Russia looked like this:
instead of this:
Why?
So you can promote a troll agenda? That the US is looking to conquer more territory and add it as another state instead of influence it? Those days are over and have been for 80 years and the US is a large reason why. And Russia is bringing it back.
You know as well as I do that when Russia lined up their forces on the border in 2021 Biden called up Putin and scheduled a summit:

and got Putin to back his forces down.
And later that year when they started lining up again. Biden declassified information:
Avril Haines said there was "a fair amount of skepticism" among US allies that Russia would invade, and Biden wanted to start planning.

They sounded the alarm:

They had a videoconference urging Putin not to do it:
The US and its European allies are pushing for diplomacy with Russia but a renewed conflict in Ukraine is still possible

They tried shuttle diplomacy:
Russia’s top diplomat went to say that "the EU fully proved its incompetence, when it failed to make good on what it had agreed on"

Antony Blinken publicly warned Putin:
"We've given Russia two paths. There's a path of diplomacy and dialogue... But there's also a path of its renewed aggression and massive consequences," Blinken said.

The State Department was working overtime trying to prevent this. So why do you continue with this, "if we had just tried diplomacy this wouldn't have happened"? Putin wants Ukraine; how do you diplomicize that?
And once it happened we had multiple peace negotiations in Belarus and Turkey promoted by Washington.
It's just that these trolls are
"trying to create the idea that Russia is not waging war in Ukraine; it’s the EU and NATO and even the U.S. who are actually guilty of the warfare in Ukraine. The Ukrainian president is a warmonger, Putin loves peace and negotiations"
‘Whoever is the next Putin who takes over will continue using it’ because the online propaganda has proved useful, says Jessikka Aro.
