How the economy has affected me

I looked up my hourly wage at my first job, a teamster warehouseman in then vs now money. In 2023 money it's 38.xx an hour, and my first job wasn't all that long ago, I'm not like Grampa Simpson. How many warehousemen union or not are pulling 38 and change an hour now? None. My HS car bought on my own was a Fox Body Mustang 5.0 notch back 5spd. Ran me $3500 with 34,xxx on the clock. Similar car today, let's say a 2019 I don't know, what's comparable to kids now? A WRX? Maybe a Toyota 86/BRZ with super low miles? Also unmolested all factory. Can a kid supporting himself make it and inside it? Something really wrong when a democracy turns into a plutocracy via lobbying and PACs. How that's legal is insanity, must've been last minute budgets with BS like legal bribery hidden. Of course the whole being legal for Congress helped, they're there to line their pockets.

I’ve been buying hard boiled eggs because they’re cheaper than raw eggs, how much sense does that make? It’s not inflation at this point, it’s gouging!
Critical of the greatest economic system known in all of human history?

I’m assuming you’re referring to capitalism. I get capitalism, this is beyond that
People charge as much as you are willing to pay for goods and services. Maybe lack of competition is the problem.

The alternative is wage and price control.

I’m all for raising wages to a realistic number, but what I’m not for are these idiots at places like McDonalds making a competitive salary to a job someone went to college or trade school to get. Or the delivery service ppl bitching about the pay when nobody is forcing them to work there. Raise the minimum wage but maximize the pay gap, that’s a good plan, this way ppl aspire to actually do more than stay at the bottom
