This entire country is broken for several generations if we start correcting it now.

I suggest taking 200 billion off of our 750 billion dollar defense budget and do something about drug addiction and homelessness.

That would take courage and this country doesn't elect courage, so where are we.

This country has allowed drugs to flood this nation and destroy entire communities. It will be equivalent to fighting a world war and a generation will most likely be lost, but maybe we can save the next generation. I'm all in.

Because labor is no longer valued and excess energy is no longer burned off doing manual labor we are in a place where Credentialism is the last acceptable prejudice. You can't go after someone because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, but no degree.....no job.

2/3rds of the nation of working age don't have a college degree. This and this alone is what sets the average worker drone on path of jogging on the treadmill undisturbed until they can retire respectfully. Those without a college degree are othered, they will statistically find themselves going down in income as they reach their 50's, this is a statistical fact.

So education is a clear marker for class in this country and those that aren't considered "smart" are kicked to the curb.

There are no other systems where a person can prove their worth as there are gatekeepers that ensure no one can pass through the gate without the proper credentials.

I don't know if cutting the military budget is gonna fix this, it could perhaps create a situation where say only 1/2 the country is kicked to the curb, but I think ultimately you'd need to realize that a "one size fits all" approach. A Platonic "Ideal" society just isn't realistic and you should instead set up a society where people of all capabilities can keep themselves with dignity.

People are just giving up, this mass resignation isn't just people hopping over to other jobs, they are giving up because they feel demoralized as the rat race ramps up and the crumbs get smaller for those on the bottom.

Until you get rid of Credentialism and just allow a man/women to do an honest days work without being screwed with, I don't see this changing, I see it getting worse as our population grows.

Philosophers have approached this problem going all the way back thousands of years, they have urged man to have dignity to enjoy life and being alive even without material success, but America is a place that tries to destroy this mindset and instead teaches you to strive for success and consume to set the example for your peers that need convincing. It's rather tragic that we hold our best consumers, our rich in such high regard and have traded high minded ideas, the enjoyment of thinking for materialism.

Russia and its former self the USSR has a looooonnnggg history of being exactly what it is being still to this day. A history that far precedes the existence of NATO. I've stated in the past that I don't think it wise to place power in the hands of any one person. America worships the idea of leadership, they think, probably because of religion that you should trust and obey leaders using faith.

If I could wave a magic wand and end violence the world over I would, but I can't.

If you could convince the human race never to trust anyone, to be skeptical of power, to question and demand justification for anyone seeking any form of power(which there isn't a justification) then you might evolve the human race to get beyond the personality cults like Putin or Trump or anyone down to your average Joe asshole that wants to rule people on a smaller scale.

Tragedy is all over this world. As I type this some kid is being raped, some wife is probably being beaten, vet is living on the streets, a boss is terrorizing a low skilled worker, there might be a person getting ready to commit suicide.

I've seen men that aren't even really connected to Ukraine from the US state that they are married and have 3 kids and they are going over there to fight.

I have always admired Russian art, composers, dancers, writers, they are a passionate people that produce some of the most beautiful darkly powerful art. The Russian people are fine by me, the leader Putin isn't.

When we are young we believe we can change the world. As we grow older we realize there are things far beyond our control. As I grow older one friend and family member after another dies, all those people that provide a frame of reference killed off.
