Had a good workout, been eating a bit more the past few days. Weight jumped quick but so did performance. Hard to find a sweet spot there. Last rep on bench was more a touch and go but the first 4 were paused so finally got that 315x5 bench I’d been chasing for a few months. Last go of it they were all TNG and I couldnt get the 5th rep off my chest. Gona try throwing some light leg work back in on my mid week workout and see if that’ll loosen up my lower body paina.

Right side feeling better, some back muscles were sore which is good. Meaning I’m using muscles that haven’t been really working. Left adductor is getting worse. Need to see if MAT will help me there or if I just need to say fuck it and take a few weeks off training. Maybe just see if it sorts itself out.

Lol give the wife some money so she can go to shopping town with the kids and you can go hunting!

That'll shut her up :D

Had a crazy week this past week and it spilled over into this week. On call, middle of the night call outs, out of town driving back and forth. Adductor is in rough shape, I’m limping around on it Work has been rough. Had a cold to top it off. Haven’t trained at all this week. Just calling it a deload. Need to go to the MAT chick and see what she can do for this adductor shit. My right knee is finally feeling good at least. So that
last session did me a bunch of good. Worked out since my left leg has basically become a kick stand.

After a week off I figured going light was best. Very quick session maybe 30 min. Amazing how short rest periods are easy when fresh and weights are light. Feeling good afterwards. Might do these for a bit. I’m fucking over always being in pain somewhere and to be honest after about day 5 of this no training Deload , I was more achy and feeling off than when training very heavy. So I guess being 36 and having a lot of miles is definitely going to require some effort to stay out of pain. Don’t want to say my competition days are over but I probably need to reinvent myself a bit.

Yeah, I'm at a crossroads right now too. Trying to find a way to enjoy the gym if I'm not lifting heavy. Feels like I've just been going through the motions for the last 4-5 months. Don't want to be in constant pain to the point it affects my job and life anymore, but also getting almost zero enjoyment out of what I've been doing in the gym.

Trying to get through these quick and work up a sweat like it’s cardio. The 20 reps on squats However required some rest even at 155. Legs were like jelly. MAT appointment tomorrow

It’s rough man. Not hanging it up but not going to torture myself either. Think in my case running a block of fitness style training and then re asses. Try to clean up some of these injuries.

I'm not hanging it up either. Finishing cutting weight now and I'm going to give a real effort to some hypertrophy after. If work ever calms down enough I can make the gym regularly again anyway.

I mean it's nowhere near my first time being injured and I've always trained around it and came back stronger, but this time it's lingered so long and I can't do any of the big three at all. Kinda just going through the motions lately feeling lost.

I don't know, it sucks getting older and beat up. I'm feeling better aches and pains wise somewhat but work alone has me waking up sore all over sometimes.

Got MAT done on wed. Deadlift feeling good. Coach talked me out of the higher rep compounds, he doesn’t think it will help with my injuries. Take it easy sure but the repetition of movement compounds the issue. I trust his judgment, his wife is the mat chick so they communicate with one another. Actually pretty cool that they can be that helpful. Wiped out from work. Got the weekend off, gona drink some beer and say fucki it,lol.

To listen to the coach, it seems to me the right way). The coach will not say nonsense. And rest is always beneficial, and even more so a good rest)
