Everyone please beware of Colonial gear.

This may be a little long, but I am going to try to make it as cohesive as possible. A few months ago after seeing all the source testing, and blind testing I placed my first order with Colonial. When it had arrived, I checked the vials like I always do, and I found floaters in the primo. I posted it in the discord I was in at the time, and also emailed colonial about it. I believe he handled it very well, he apologized, gave me $200 credit to replace the primo, and sent pictures multiple pictures refiltering “what he had left” and assured me it would not happen again.

I finally decided to place my second order some time ago, and use my credit for my upcoming blast. When the order arrived, I found floaters in the NPP. I once again, emailed him, he apologized, offered a replacement vial for the NPP with a floater in it, and said gave me “the end of a filter” excuse.

I only needed a couple more vials, so I accepted the replacement, and paid for the other 3 that I needed, this time, getting it in MCT (the other oils were GSO) and you guessed it, floaters so far in 2 vials. I have not even checked the other 2 yet.

I am a complete idiot, I know. I should not have even accepted the second order, let alone the third. But I wanted to let everyone in the community know so they can double check any of their vials and be safe. I really need to learn how to fucking home brew at this point.

edit: I still have all the emails, pictures of vials, and videos. Idk if I can post a video here, but if someone tells me how I will gladly show them all floating around. But I will post pictures right now of the vial

He really did, and that is why I gave him the second chance .He seemed like he handled it much better then when I pointed out Syms floaters. That was my mistake though.

Edit: also, if he’s helping dragon, maybe everyone ordering domestic dragon should double check their vials too.

Sounds like hes being over the top with the customer service and handling it well too, getting a floater and him coming back with $200 store credit and posting photos of him correcting a fuckup sounds pretty fucking good to me haha

i would agree IF it ended there, but it didn't. Two orders later and he still hasn't corrected the problem.

I agree. The first time it happened I was nervous about emailing him. But he seemed very genuinely upset about it. The credit was nice but him sending proof of re filtering was what I thought was above and beyond.

But like @MisterSuperGod said, three times is just too much and it could be only a matter of time before someone gets hurt pinning that.

@justanoob isn’t crucifying Colonial. He’s just letting everyone know so they check their own vials. Seems like the right thing to do? You’d rather him keep it quiet?

The little flashlight on an iPhone works well for this. Turn it on, lay it down flat and set the vial on top of it. Give it a gentle swirl. Don’t shake it or you’ll get air bubbles.

Never had issues over 8 orders. Definitely good for you to share but I guess everyone should do their own due diligence. Also his extensive testing is what I like. I’ll be sure to double check my vials though.

Yeah, by no means am I trying to attack Colonial. Like I said, the way he handled everything on the customer service aspect was great. I truly believe he felt awful about it.

But if this has happened to me, with 3 different orders, in multiple vials, and in different oils, I cannot be the only one with floaters. I just wanted everyone to be aware, and double check theirs just in case to be safe.

His testing and the customer testing is what made him stand out to me.

I did get floaters in 2 vials that i got from colonials, one 250mg/20ml test (one very thin/small metallic piece) & 500mg/10ml test (small piece of cloth). he gave me replacements shortly after and since then I never had any issues with their vials, but im checking carefully everything since having floaters is not cool no matter what

This is why it’s good to post up when you notice. Chances are it could be an isolated thing but in the event it’s widespread it’s good to let others know. We all should be trusting other members here over sources. Doesn’t matter how good their track record is. Shit happens sometimes.

I think he publicly addressed the first time it was brought up on SST and said he changed the material in his filters to prevent the filter strands from breaking through. Something along the lines.. I've only ordered from him since after that and I inspect my vials and haven't hit any issues yet.

@OP are these older batch vials or newer batch?
