2020 Olympia...

So here's where I disagree, curry has been phenomenal consistently since he began training with his trainer in Kuwait. He's gotten better rapidly. Just because he didn't improve as much between the shows in a 6 month period (2019 Arnold and 2019 Olympia) doesn't mean he won't between the
2019 and 2020 Olympia. Brandon is going to come in shredded and even bigger and more complete than 2019. The guy has been going full throttle since the last O over a year ago. He's In Kuwait, away from his family. There's no way the dude loses his focus. He's already in better condition several weeks out then some will be come show time. He's also miles in front of Phil Heath. I would bet my house on Brandon come December.

*Also I just want to say if Phil comes outside the top 6 all together I wouldn't be surprised. I think he's going to be significantly less impressive in 2020. But I'd be surprised if he's outside the top 10.*
I'm not 100% sure that Phil is taking 1st but I really don't feel in my heart of of hearts that Curry will win this year. I like Curry hes about as nice a guy there is to win the Olympia but I just dont see him topping a couple people on that list. 3 of the people on that list are going to be 100% on point with conditioning and that's Hadi, Flex and probably Phil. If Phil fixes his gut it's his to lose on conditioning since his cuts, separation, back, arms, and legs are about the best in the business at his size. Hes an asshole to the 10th degree but his only two knocks are his gut and hes narrow as fuck.

If Curru wins it legitimately by being the best than I'm a happy camper but I just dont see it.

I was thinking we could make a bet on who places higher with winner getting a bottle or two of whatever the other guy has in his sock drawer but... probably not the best idea lol We could do a CIM bet of $50 for who places higher Heath or Curry?

I have Phil in 4th because I think Brandon will be way more compete and on this year. Flex Lewis I think will be a upgraded bigger version of his 2018 Olympia form, and near perfect. I think it will be very tight between him and curry. Much more close than any other two people in this lineup. I have Hadi choopan over Phil Heath, Because Hadi doesn't struggle at all with conditioning and I know has been all in this off season to be competitive this year. I think Phil will have somewhat less muscle and pop to physique. I think the Stomach distention will be very similar to recent years and be more pronounced If anything because I don't believe he's at his peak as far as all around musculaturity is concerned. Phil is 40 now, and after a year off so much focused on business I don't see him being able to have held the same muscle mass.
Not that it has happened more than once I think, but to my knowledge, never has a Mr. O been beaten, taken a year off to regroup, then come back to reclaim his title and lost. Im thinking of Jay Cutler here.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you on phils size. I think with the time off, he's had the time to do whatever he wants with his physique. Plenty of time to keep size and focus on the details. Phil is 7x Mr Olympia, and that alone can help you win... I'm thinking of Yates' final win, when I think he should've lost the title that year. And like @Silentlemon1011 said, everyone loves a good comeback story... and ratings are heavily chased.

I know of flex lewis, but I dont follow 212 that much,, and am not very familiar with his physique and what to expect from him. Of course hes a threat, given his title history. I still have Brandon winning. Bearing history in mind, even if phil comes in off... i think it's likely the judges will still have him vying for the win... for ratings and politics if nothing else... again, Yates last win comes to mind. Id be very surprised if they had phil lower than top 3. But personally I hope he gets blown out of the water.

I couldn't agree with you more about wanting Phil to get blown out of the water lol

So to help you with some perspective on Flex Lewis
I am going to post here a comparison of he versus phil in the fdb, BDB and most muscular:

Flew Lewis has been off season hitting it hard as fuck since September of 2018. Gunning for the 2020 Olympia title!! He will be massively improved, probably about 15-20 lbs heavier on stage with similar condition.
I believe with a year totally off for Phil, which really was a year off- It wasn't a year of from competing to focus on improving and adding size. It was to decompress mentally and focus on business.
He's not going to be improved, and the stomach distention is due to Irreversible ORGAN GROWTH so at the very best he will have the same stomach and not a worse one. But here's the deal as Joe Biden would say LOL if Phil comes in the same size musculaturity he's going to need to incorporate his same protocols, we've seen Phil's stomach grow every year. If he takes out the inslulin and growth we're going to see a less full and big Phil Heath !!!!!
You mentioned him being narrow @bigpoppachump2 this will be HIGHLY EMPHASIZED by any kind of reduction in fullness and overall musculaturity. The bottom line is he has to pick, to be downsized and maintain the same tummy issue, or to be the same size or bigger and have a bigger tummy issue.

Either way I'm excited to see him on stage in 2020, what a show we're about to have come December.

It really sucks that he had to pull out of the Olympia. I'd say I was looking forward to Flex stepping on the Open stage more than any other storyline heading into the Olympia.

Agreed! I think Flex had a VERY good chance at taking the title. I was rooting for him big time. He'll come in even better in 2021, I have no doubt.

I'm disappointed in Ramy. I don't want him to recieve a special invite at this point, he doesn't deserve it. He hasn't had his shit together since the Olympia In 2017 where he last placed highly. It's time for Ramy to stop riding his hype, to get into the trenches and earn his place.

This year I want to see Brandon kick Phil's ass and hold that title another year. I want to see Dexter at his very best being it's his retirement show. I'd like to see Hadi come in even bigger with the same condition. I'd like a surprise from someone who were not expecting to be in that final call out to move up and get in there. Maybe someone like hunter labrada or sergio olivia jr.

Akim Williams won Chicago pro yesterday and is headed to the Olympia, dashing the hopes of Justin Rodriguez and new pro Nick Walker, who placed fourth.

Akim was great! I like the progress he made from 2019 to 2020. His lower back still lacks density. Although in great condition still lacks that grainy appearance in his upper body, I don't think he can get it. I expect him to be top ten at this year's Olympia.

Justin rodriguez will still get to the olympia on points, I think he's done a great job of being competitive this year and if he can continue to improve may eventually crack that top ten very soon. His quads, and arms I think can both be better. He's very good, especially from the back.

Maxx Charles really lacks from the back, I also think his conditioning was less impressive than his previous few shows, I definitely think he's burning out. He's a very mature bodybuilder, he's been doing this a long time. If his back hasn't come up yet I don't think it's going to.

Nick walker came in better than the north Americans. I think he's maxed out his frame, he seems to have already reached his potential at 26. I don't think he can be very much better than he is now. Only thing he can do is grow. With that comes even more health risk, I'm concerned for the young man's healthy and longevity. I'd be lieing if I said I wasn't worried about him.

look at this vid man... and tell me if you re still of the same idea... look at Phil’s arm.. ahaha a fuckin big leg.. and Hadi Choopan’s joking about hiding his arm for the photo tells a lot... Phil Heath is a fuckin scary freak...

Anyway, Phil Heath should be Mr Freak not Mr Olympia... like last Coleman and that awful Cutler... so since Mr O right now is just a matter of size, then go for Heath... it surprised me a lot to see Shawn Rhoden becoming Mr O... i love his body and i agree with the fact that he sould have been Mr O.. aesthetic wise... but, Mr O saw Dorian Yates, Ronnie Coleman and Cutler being a very unpleasant large waisted cylinders... Flex Wheeler never won Mr O.. Serge Nubret too... so, Since Mr Olympia is Mr Freakempia they should continue with Phil Heath since his arm is bigger than the Front door of the house @Biggerarms22 betted

im sarchastic btw.. i hope Rhoden returns and win next year.. i m not into unaesthetic freaks like Cutler, Yates and last Coleman phase..

For me 2020’s 212 champion Keone Pearson should be Mr Olympia... small waist, huge muscles and top notch vacuum...

Every year ppl talk abt guys controlling their guts, does it ever actually happen? No, the shit is irreversible. Nobody controls a damn thing!

It should be visceral fat due to some insulin insensitivity.. i saw it even my dad... thats a medician and tried to explain it to me for what he know..

Kinda impossible to have giant intestine or other giant Organs.. they should have giant lungs giant eyes giant everything... Anyway lot of people has lot of visceral fat pressing the intestines above abs.. my dad hasnt fat upon abs, kinda strange i know.. he has kinda flat abs but he looks like 9 nine pregnant... everyone has different fat cells pattern... but lot of people has lot of visceral fat.. there are lot of guys on high HGH dosages that doesnt have big gut, but intestines receptorial patterns/ pathways to grouth are the same for all for that organs.. it s a complicated question

Damn Phil is looking freaky.
Hadi is already looking well conditioned as well.

Fuck, count me all aboard the Olympia hype train

There was a lot of hype around Nick Walker's pro debut, and good for him for getting his placing, but damn he is blocky AF. And his legs are so damn short for his body... couple that with a long torso and makes for a crazily unaesthetic look..look at him in the line up from the last show, you'll see what I mean.

I was kind of blown away by that Phil and Hadi vid, but damn, I hope Brandon keeps it. Phil has had a good run, but he's blown out his midsection.

I'm bummed Flex had to drop out.

I like the look of all the classic guys that are moving up to 212... maybe they'll keep trickling up and we'll eventually get some aesthetic contenders in open.

Bumstead is looking good too. Seems to have brought up his arms and back, which desperately needed it IMO

I guess the only question left is, will Ramy get a special invite?

Not that I really care anymore, he keeps showing up out of shape.
I've lost all hope when it comes to seeing Big Ramy is excellent condition.

Rumor has it, that he has even lost conditioning in the final 2 weeks before a show, to try and up his size...wtf

Any ideas what Nick walker could do to place better? I think he's already damn near reached his potential.

Keone pearson specifically in the 212, everyone talks about how Nick walker is killing himself with how fast he's grown. Hopefully keone doesn't do the same thing. The dude just added 25 lbs In stage weight in one off season. 180 to 205. Let's hope if he goes to open he'll take a little more time. I hope he doesn't go from classic to open in two years.

Right! you can only control your breathing so much. The actual growth to the midsection from HGH/Insulin Is by all accounts irreversible.

I'm kind of a ramy fan boy, but like you said, I'm tired of seeing him off and not peeled to the bone. I've about given up too. I honestly think if he came in at 100%, he could do major damage. He came in 2nd at the Mr. O one year, after all.

Nick walker has the mass. If you look at his proportions tho, to my eye, his chest is underpowered compared to his monster arms and delts. Im just not a fan of his physique, nothing personal on him. He's obviously put in the work.

And to me, yeah, keone put on a good bit of size, but his proportions are still great, and I think he literally looks the exact same, just better and bigger.

I'm also glad George The Bull Peterson moved up to 212. I think that's much more suiting of his shape. It seriously looked like he was holding back to compete in Classic.

Yes, and george peterson will very likely get the 212 Olympia this year being that keone is sitting out.

I love Ramy too. But like you I'm over it, he needs to earn his keep. I think if he came at his best he would be a top 6 lock every year; possibly good enough to win it outright. I don't know how good his best would really look- We've never seen it.

Nick walker is a great bodybuilder, he really is. But unless it's his posing making his structure look off, He's just not going to be able to overcome that. I think he's really maxed out his frame anyway.

Keone I think looks incredible. I'm glad he's taking the olympia off because like I said earlier in this thread he did about 25 lbs In stage weight in one year. It's time for a break, and I'm glad he's giving his body and his mind time off.

i think Ramy should work a little bit on his legs... maybe he should inject some cortisol into them because they’re fuckin disproportionate... he has smaller waist compared to other times...

i hope he catabolizes a little his legs and wins the Mr O

Let's see how he does in December. I'm expecting an all or nothing effort from Ramy. This is it, he missed it in 2019 and was way off in 2018. Didn't even place well at the Arnold in 2020, if he doesn't come in and impress at this show I don't think there will be justified hype on this guy going forward.

I certainly don't think it's true, but there's a conspiracy theory out there that ramy didn't really have covid, and was banking on the special invite. He definitely would have qualifies for the Olympia on points if he'd competed, but *if he faked covid* then thered be no prepping for the Europe show, and he in theory could have treated everything since the Arnold this year as one long Olympia prep. And if that is the case, then in theory he could come in more on than if he'd competed in Europe.

Its fun to think about, but I dont think its true. He switches coaches too often for any one of them to get to know how his body reacts to contest prep and be able to manipulate the variables to ramys benefit. Who's he with now? Is it still Chad? I saw an interview with him after the Arnold and he took some responsibility for how ramy came into that show. So hopefully they've worked out the kinks and can really dial him in correctly. But yoh just need time with the same coach to figure that out. I'll give him one more year after this if he sticks with the same coach. If he switches again after Olympia, then yeah, I'm done.

I often wonder if Ramy would do better if he skipped legs for a couple months, dieted hard, and came in a little "flat" compared to what bodybuilders normally do, without too much attempt to fill out, just a minimal effort.

He would probably look better.

Just ignorant musing . . .
