Holy hell prep is no joke...

Just need to vent a bit.
Having a pretty hard time.

I’m 6 weeks out from my first masters physique show. My coach just cut all the best carbs except for veg M-F and I.AM.SUFFERING.

1,800 cals with 30% carbs, 60% protein, and 10% fats with ALL the carbs coming from vegetables. After cardio I get 15g of dextrose and 15g protein powder.

Fortunately Sat and Sun I get 2,300 cals 45% carbs, 40% protein, and 15% fats. I look hella good by Monday mornings LOL but it’s a hell ride getting to Saturday morning.

I’m 225, 9% BF, doing 45 mins cardio and a 30 min lifting session Mon-Sat on a (fortunately) low volume Push/Pull/Legs routine. Sunday’s I’m so tapped there’s no way I could possibly train anyway. I do 10-12 sets per body part per week divided over 2 workouts each. Can’t sleep for shit due to all the PED’s and starting to get a bit constipated despite drinking a gallon plus of water a day.

I’m not looking for feedback on any of this. I 100% trust my coach and I’m getting amazing results daily. It’s just for context.

Basically I spend most of my days hungry AF, ready to inhale the next meal in 120 minutes LOL. Woke up last night at 11p and couldn’t get back to sleep bc I was so hungry. Finally resorted to a large glass of warm lemon water which helped me sleep but had to get up to piss twice.

Workouts are all weak. Cardio is mailed in At the minimum BPM all to mitigate crazy hunger cravings that put me over the edge. I have NO energy for anything including my job. Mostly cranky all the time, sleepy the rest, and hungry 100% of the minutes of the day.

I’m saying all this in hopes there’s some special trick y’all have used to get through this? It’s a serious mind fuck being THIS hungry ALL the damn time.

Am I just being a pussy?
Got a pro tip I could use?
Any help or words of encouragement appreciated.

haha....well from the sound of it, you are right on track man. Sounds like everything is dialed in like it should be and your metabolism is in working....really well lol.

It totally is a mind fxck at this point. Can you have caffeine? does that help at all with energy?

Can you have pickles at all? That helped me in my prep. At least it was something lol.
 
Hire a new coach, that's a terrible diet. Seriously? No carbs at all mon-fri (veggies don't count) of course you cannot work out and feel like absolute dogshit, of course you cannot sleep! It's not the drugs, it's the diet. You are going into a mode where your body is probably going to eat itself away real soon, .muscles will look stringy and depleted. I don't understand these measures when you could get great results by eating SOME CARBS, continuing on with cardio, have better workouts and look fuller. It's simply not necessary to deplete a nutrient that much in order to get lean. It's fucking with your job, your life. Do you understand that you are trying to win a $10 trophy and you'll get abt 2 minutes onstage? Remember, without the job and income there is no grocery shopping, no gear, no dates, you will be hungry and broke rather than just hungry. Don't be stupid, if a cup or two of rice or a couple potatoes a day is going to throw you off then guess what? You ain't got it! Don't get so close to the forest you cannot see the trees, I've been where you're at before several times. It becomes OCD more than looking good
 
And 8mg ephedrine at 4a, 6a, 8a, and 10a seems to help too.

8mg is pretty low... I routinely use 25mg and it is best combined with 100-200mg caffeine and 2-4gr of L tyrosine. I suspect you'll notice a difference but, if you're sensitive to stimulants, take that into account.

Ephedrine's hunger negating effects tend to wear off over a relatively short period of time so if you've been taking it a while, it may not help cravings if you increase... The fat loss effect does not wear off the same way the hunger suppression does though and right now is probably the time you'll need it most.

He made a good point the other day - “when feeling that grehlin, don’t associate it negatively as pain - Associate it positively as the mobilization of fat!” That really helped. I’m embracing it. Plus I refeed on weekends with lotsa carbs and look SICK when I do.

I’m a small business owner with a large staff.
I DO get emotional (crazy) from too many stims.
8mg every 2 hours is kind of a sweet spot where I can manage the hunger AND the insanity. Incidentally I throw 100mg caffeine in at the same time, as you might expect.
I’ve flown off the deep end too many times from too many stimulants to know to be careful. And even then it still happens time to time.

Best of luck man. It's always hell any way you do it, the body doesn't like to be that low on bodyfat. It fights it constantly

The lack of sleep is BRUTAL, second only to this hunger lol

I didn’t appreciate the discipline required during a prep until I tried it. It’s legit for sure. I’ve been training for 30 years this year and have never been through anything like this. I honestly couldn’t have done it if I wasn’t an entrepreneur with a business that pretty well runs itself. I’m a waste of skin. Energy until 9a and that’s it LOL.
 
Pull the HGH out at 4 wks out, it retains fluid. Pull the test at 2 weeks and if it's prop pull it out at 10 days
