Who has tried Pilates?

Serious question here, the shit looks tough. Looking to increase mobility and help heal some joint and tendon issues by trying something new once a week instead of just pounding iron and recovering. I've heard Sly does it too

The real question is, will you be wearing shoes that match your purse when you go in for your first session or are you gonna mismatch and make a bold statement?

:D i know. "Fuck off, MSG."

On a serious note. i think a lot of us take joint and ligament health for granted. i'm guilty of that myself. Anything to help them would be a smart idea, IMO.

Try it. What do you have to lose? If you don't like it, you never have to bother with it again, right?

I want to make a bold statement that says ,"I'm the only guy in here and I'll fuck all of you bitches!!" Hahaha

You say that now but sadly, I think you may end up panting on the floor near death with a bunch of milf's looking down at you saying, "pussy".

My gf does all that kind of stuff... Her and her friends have been trying to convince me for a while to do it but honestly, I don't think I could keep up. They have to mop the floor in the studio when they're done because you can slip in the sweat puddles.

The boot camp type classes are the really good ones for metabolic conditioning.. I would actually really like to try one but I just don't really have time to do one of those and still lift weights. Thought about cutting a lifting day out and doing a cardio day... The spin classes are also really good.

You stand correct. Let me tell you, that class was some of the hardest shit I've ever physically done. 5 minutes into it on my 3rd plank variation I was just thinking "wtf did I get myself into here?" It's brutal shit and the physics of being a larger guy certainly doesn't make it easy. Yoga classes are a walk in the park compared to Pilates. Also, the contraptions work very well, it's similar to bands only it's springs and handles and you can adjust distance of body to your own level of fitness.

Yea, there were some good looking chicks in that class, I was going through too much hell to even look at them! A few times I was blinded by the sweat dripping into my eyes. There is no possible way you could not be shredded doing this shit regularly.

A lot of other classes you could get away with being slightly out of shape or not conditioned at all. Not this shit, its definitely no joke. I hear you on the time constraints, I'm going to X out one of the gym days and throw this in the mix once a week for awhile. Yea, I prefer the weights but I also know what I need to change for max benefit rt now, for me anyways

^^^This right here.
Especially with age I focus on my joints more and more and it pays dividends. I have my own basic yoga routines I do daily and occasionally I'll sit in on a legit, intermediate flow class .
I always walk out shaky and dripping with sweat. It's good stuff , I'll have to check out Pilates though.
