Urologist prescribing T injections when TT below 500 ng/dL

I just found randomly a Doctor who does that when I went to get my testicles checked (It´s all fine down there).

We talked about AAS, and told me he considers hypo everyman below 500 ng/dL and depending of course on LH/FSH levels too.

Such a deal right? I am now a happy natty with no intention of TRT but for the future I got it in the pocket just in case.

I can tell you from my own, I'm under my 30's, Tested right at 499,500,502... I felt like shit for the last 4-5 years, no sex drive, brain fog, muscle was going away even though i was fairly active, fatigued, fat around my mid section stayed even though eating right and tried different things, couldn't even squeeze something very hard or rather as hard as i used when i was 16-19. My bloods were in line along with many other tests besides some vitamins that most people are low in. I can't speak for other experienced members here and their opinion but If you found a doctor that treats you by how you feel and not numbers AND they're willing to work with you, that's amazing.

Low T symptoms are highly relative-subjective, It's just one hormone, and having no muscle, brain fog and no libido can be anything, like you don't generally see muscular people out there, or sex machines.

Indeed, as for myself, i said we did other tests, blood work etc. Everything was in line besides over active thyroid(I think? Always get the both mixed up, highest value i saw a 6). Once going TRT, My GI issues disappeared, losing fat around mid section, muscle coming back on,well being was there again, thyroid came back down to normal, brain fog gone, more energy, libido went back to normal. Don't know how or why but i'm not complaining and enjoying having a life again.

Glad it worked for you.

Like @JC Grifter said.
Very individual.

I actually feel pretty decent around 400ish.
I walk around at 200ish these days before I stopped PCT and started Blast and Cruise.

If you feel like q bucket of shit... and it's done by a doc...
Well, hes the Doc lol

Exactly. I felt like crap at 400. But then again since we don’t typically get a baseline when we’re young, for all I know I was at 1000 in my 20s so that’s a huge drop and no shit I feel bad. Now if someone around 40 feels ok at 500, maybe they were only 600 in their 20s and it wasn’t such a huge drop, so they feel good, where I would feel miserable.

yes 1000 is very good level, only the chosen ones got it, of course I am one of them, but I have done many times 700s too, I think there are pronounced oscillations. And I am very far from privileged
genetics for bodybuilding, still I do way higher than average.

Exactly, myself personally I had to fight my doctor's office and the front staff to even give me a test for all this stuff. Reasons, "I'm too young to have any issues", "you aren't a doctor", "only the doctor decides what tests you should get and whether you get them or not". Absolutely ridiculous. Once I got everything done, I fucked right out of that office and never went back there. Keep in mind, the same doctor that couldn't figure to tell me my VitD and B12 was rock bottom low to point where I could have serious issues if not damage done already.

I also thought at one point 500 should be good but a few guys told me I might have had way more natural test in my younger days and it fell off. If I dropped 200 points, that's quite extensive in the larger scheme of things.

This is why I tell people I know with sons, to get their levels checked when they’re 18-20 so they have a baseline to go off of in the future.

Not a bad idea
Here in Canada, I struggle to get docs to agree to a full panel of bloodwork.

Same thing "The doctor knows best"
How can he "Know" when he has no idea what my T is?

But it's not so bad now, I just show them my low T and tell them I "Used to" take steroids ...lol

he considers hypo everyman below 500 ng/dL and depending of course on LH/FSH levels too.

This practice is inconsistent with existing guidelines and would be considered a deviation from current practice standards especially in the absence of classic well documented low T signs and symptoms.

im not saying its bad practice per se, but painting "TRT" with such a broad bush is how some physicians become known as a STEROID DOC which may lead to further, usually state medical board, scrutiny.

And if patients don't believe, or are not searching for, low T as the source of their problems, the pursuit of an "ah-ha low T" diagnosis is often WRONG

That's exactly what I told them. I said even if im wrong, atleast I will have a baseline test for my hormones for when I need them in the future. I was told, not a valid reason nor do I need to know....

I’d find a new doctor ASAP.

I never put my foot back into that office after that. I had to get a referral to a urologist which asked me why I'm in his office, I told him the story and he was in shock and disbelief.. He apologized to me on that doctors behalf and told me that no medical professional should ever act in the manner they did. Took my blood work, did all my tests thankfully and called me personally back as soon as they received the results.

A TT level, baseline or otherwise, is not an appropriate screening tool for otherwise healthy males, because a diagnosis of "low T", and/or TRT requires corroborating signs and symptoms.

However LH, FSH and baseline TT can be quite helpful BEFORE one ventures into the world of PEDs. And the former includes just about everyone on a PED, forum, blog or board.

That's the thing doc, I didn't just ask for a total T count only. I came in with symptoms I've had for a few years, expressed my concern. Asked for a whole hormone panel. They denied me, flat out. They did a couple blood panels, EKG, and a few others. Besides my vitamin deficiency that only I noticed way later and they didn't mention, everything was in check. So I proceeded with asking for a full hormone panel again since the original blood work showed no issues. They wouldn't even perform the LH FSH panel. once I went to the endocrinologist , only then we're those done.
