Probably at least partially because he only posts training footage and never really talks. Someone like Larry Wheels posts skits and funny stuff and pages like Calloused Hands Powerlifting posts motivational stuff and prehab and mobility. Personally I don't mind someone just posting training footage when it's that impressive as Jamal's. I never get tired of watching him pull 800-900lbs like it's 225lbs.
Fair enough
I guess I didnt think about it that way.
I suppose because I'm so interested, I view it the same way.
But impartially... yeah, would be boring for someone who isn't hardcore into it
Got the super cool artificial hip @49How I feel this week lol...View attachment 130253
Damn.... not there yet but am 46 and feeling it lolGot the super cool artificial hip @49.....will get the other one probably in a year at 51... Turned me into a bench only guy
.
Not that I wont squat or dead, pain is not the issue $$$$ is. If you include time off, copays, Dr.s visits that hip cost me about 6K and that's with insurance. Cant afford to mess that new one up beings the other old one is on borrowed time. Enjoy it while you can kids![]()
Dang old man .. you sound as bad as me..lol. Everything has been mentioned in this post so I wont repeat but low bars really took there toll on my wrists/elbows upper arms etc. Joke to share. Young kid ask me why I trained different then everyone else and I said you have to train different when you get your card. He says with surprised look "you have a pro card" I said no -----AARP.So this am did my PT prescribed stretching and warm up. Then started week 1 again Sheiko. Cut weight way down to see if that made any difference, worked no higher than 60% on bench, and 35% on squat.
No difference, arms and knee hurt like hell.
Arms mostly outside from shoulder to wrists. Elbows inside and out, peak of bicep, and bottom of tricep.
Knee both popped and clicked, then right one pain started top center then inside center.
Haha love the card comment.... yeah it sucks. Hoping the PT can get it fixed over the next few weeks. For now keep it light, live on Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen until thenDang old man .. you sound as bad as me..lol. Yeah, I hope he does. I m tracking his lifts. How did his deadlifts go? You should post his base stats with bench, squat and deads and then post again a few months down the road. I miss training people. Always made me happy when you get them to do lifts they never thought they could do at first. You have a fun project if he stays consistent and enjoys it
Dude I’m jealous, honesty. I love training / teaching people. At least I get to help my wife, lol.Yeah, I hope he does. I m tracking his lifts.
He worked up to 205x3... but they were ugly..
He is heavy and tall tried to get him to try sumo as I think better for him but he didnt like it.
His stats
B 105x3
S 95x5 but he gets no where near deep enough. Working on it
D 205x3
Basically his form sucks, so gonna hold him back some from weight increases. Also trying to get him to push himself. When its heavy grind it out, when the lactic acid burning keep pushing... he is not there yet
100%. I wish I realized this concept when I was starting out... I eventually had to reinvent my entire bench form. Form is king.So many people miss this point. If you train wrong and still get big numbers, thats great and all, but its still wrong lol.
