Favourite Protein Sources

Was wondering about protein preferences. What do you like to eat?
Lately been eating a lot of the Costco liquid egg whites, beef tenderloin and pork souvlakia to shake it up a bit. Got tired of too many years of chicken. Lean pork is a nice change.

One of the easiest things I've found is just canned tuna. I know you need to be careful with mercury but I've had bloods taken and after years of having a lot of tuna I've never had any sort of detectable mercury issue. I also rely on whole eggs and sardines if you can handle the fishy taste lol

I buy it all in bulk from Costco and also their skinless boneless chicken breast. I also try to eat as much mixed beans with my meals as I can.

Years ago when I was balls to the wall hardcore, I was eating tuna out of the can dry.

I think a lot of people have done this at one time or another. I just find it so convenient to just open the can and either just down it or toss it into a protein shake. Doesn't taste amazing but I don't mind it either. Just super fast and good clean protein with omega 3 is always good.

I still liked canned sockeye salmon. Add chopped onion.

Oh yea, salmon is always great as well but I find I have to be in the mood for it. Mackerel isn't bad either but does tend to be more on the fishy side.

I've actually had a lot of people say they really like the canned cubed chicken breast from Costco. There is a decent amount of sodium in it and I'm not really a fan as it almost tastes like metal or something to me lolol

Yeah I have a few cans of Costco chicken breast still. It’s ok in a pinch but not my first choice.

I did something similar
When I was hardcore and a bachelor, I'd just use steak spice on top of the Dry Tuna and eat from the can.

Apparently the kids these days have flavored Tuna from the can!

And Hummus
I'll just chow down on some hummus with veggies to hit my macros if I'm low

I've done tuna and hot sauce with rice a lot

Ever had escargot? Was told forever how good it was. Finally one day I decided it was time to try it. It was like chewing on a rubber balloon and tasted like it too. Even my teeth were squeaking while chewing lolol

Never again

Yeah over priced shit. I don’t like it. Not a big eater of sea food overall. I like fresh lake caught jack fish (northern pike). Best fish you can eat! Takes a little bit to learn how to debone them though.

Yeah I just saw at Walmart and target they have the flavored tuna in packets!! Probably at least 10 different flavors too. Way better than just dry tuna.

Yea, I'm totally with you on that. I don't mind shrimp or scallops tho but not really keen on anything other than fish.

Fried perch and sunfish are great too!
