I'm happy with how it's coming back, another month or two and I think I'll be close to where I was last year at my strongest ever on bench.
^^ That was my best from around October of last year. I'm a ways off from that currently.
Man that's monster.
I'm still gunning for my 315, wont be long now.
It gives me some.great motivation, because you're in my weight class!
You'll get there. If you're not already bench more often. Bench responds well to frequency and volume.
I'm struggling with frequency to be honest.
Really busy at work and my weak spot is squat.
I want to bench more, but if I have free time, it will typically be squats or deads.
I failed a PR last week, so I'm back to volume for a bit before I try again.
It was a weird attempt
Hit 275 with ease and great form.
285 I started doubting myself and I could barely get it off my chest.
that's for the advice... I might have to drop a Physique day and throw another bench session in there lol

Did 10 minutes of HIIT earlier and some incline treadmill. Then the upper back mobility stuff the chiropractor prescribed plus some hip mobility stuff. Gonna try to stick with doing the cardio and mobility stuff at least twice a week.
Everything was fast and easy. Last two sets of block pulls I did feel some discomfort in my right lower back and glute. It didn't continue hurting, so I don't know what to think. Chiropractor appointment again tomorrow anyway.
That was the fourth set of 515x2 paused at the knees and back down deadlift. Felt like I achieved pretty much perfect setup on that set.
Man, those paused deadlifts can be brutal. I haven’t done them in a minute.

Sheiko definitely has some crazy shit in there. Paused 1 1/2 deadlift, paused squats halfway down. Nothing too crazy for bench. Just a bunch of volume

Also my stepdad is getting open heart surgery this morning. Will need to check in on that at some point and possibly help my brother out because they have a big day at their business today.

Absolutely zero pain on high bar squat. Deadlift I'm paranoid about after feeling a little pain Thursday. My chiropractor said I had some inflammation, but should be fine for light or moderate weight. My program calls for paused deadlift tomorrow and I'm just planning on doing regular because I'm afraid I'll jerk the weight to get it moving after the pause. I'm just gonna see how it feels. If necessary I'll take a few weeks and do belt squats instead.
Stepdad did well. Turned out to be four blockages instead of two, but he had a big breakfast this morning and walked around a little. His biggest challenge will be cutting back on work. He's a massive workaholic and gets stressed out easily. He really should sell his businesses and retire soon. My mom agrees. They have plenty of money and his son (my little brother) wants absolutely nothing to do with taking over the businesses. We'll see what happens. Surgery was a success though.
Yeah, I jerk hard on the pause too.

Didn't know your stepdad was having surgery. Not sure if I missed it or what but always glad to hear when a surgery is successful and the person walks out of it. Hope he has a great recovery.
What kind of surgery / blockage if you don't mind my asking?
I just mentioned it Thursday. It was kind of a surprise. He described some symptoms to his pharmacist the other day and the pharmacist insisted he get one of those stress tests immediately. When he got the test they wanted to admit him immediately and keep him until the surgery date. He refused and went home and went back for the surgery. It was supposed to be open heart surgery on two blockages and there ended up being four. Not sure on specifics other than that. Was successful though.
Also a random set of one of those doubles with 390lbs from earlier. High bar feeling good, but not as strong as low bar.

My dad, 66, went in for a quintuple (5) bypass a few years ago and they had to remove an artery from his leg for it. He was blocked up horribly and was at serious risk of death basically. I've never seen him cry, ever, but after that surgery he kept weeping and turns out the drugs they put you on afterwards can have that side effect LOL. He has a good laugh about it now but wow it's some serious surgery.
Unfortunately he's getting there again because he refuses to do anything about his diet and is just ballooning up since retiring and sitting around. He's always been stubborn and won't listen so it gets really frustrating.
I'm really, really glad it was successful man as things don't always turn out that way.
My real dad had the same kind of surgery. He had too much other stuff wrong though. Emphysema, COPD, lung cancer, congestive heart failure. They said he'd had a heart attack at some point years before that he never even went to the hospital over. Spend time with yours while you can, wish I'd spent more with mine while he was alive. We're on our way to visit my stepdad for a few minutes now.
