To cheat or not to cheat

hey guys so this is something I’ve been wondering now for a while and figured I’d ask, when you guys are on a cycle and are cuttting do you guys ever do a cheat meal? And if so how often do you cheat . Thanks

Have you not been to OGH’s foodie thread? Unless you’re prepping for a competition, one cheat meal per week is perfectly acceptable.

No sir I have not been on that thread but thank you for mentioning it I’ll gladly read into it, and see that’s what I was thinking is a cheat meal a week couldn’t be too detrimental , I’m sure some guys even do a cheat day and still lose weight, I use to do a cheat day a week and still lose weight , but that was before taking steroids so I wasn’t sure if cheating is more frowned up when running gear

Be careful on the cheat day, because it gets easy to get off track. The cheat meal should also be your last meal of the day so there is less temptation to cheat more.

What R U Eating ? ~OGH wants to know.....

The best part about his thread is that you don’t have to start at the beginning and catch up. I’m always blown away when I see what others are eating on a regular basis. Makes me sick because I pack on fat easily, so I don’t have that liberty.

What defines a cheat to you? Plenty of guys refeed one day a week but don't go eating crap. Just a bit more in the calorie side than normal and more carbs or whatever they are lacking i.e. some asian cuisine etc. If you're talking a box of donuts and fast food all day that's another story.

Damn your Thai genetics really took a back seat. A hairy Thai that packs on fat easily?! Wtf?

I’m sure it’s not the way people like to look at it but personally I consider a cheat meal a meal of large size of anything you want example : large pizza and some Ben and jerry pints of ice cream

For my cut I just ended my girlfriend and I went out for Italian food every Friday night and had ice cream after. Strict the rest of the week. Worked fine for me.

During the day did you eat clean and just have a cheat meal or was it an all day cheat ?

Just that meal. I make the same breakfast and pack the same lunches and shakes for work every day. I would skip a shake on Saturday and Sunday to kind of offset the calories I'd take in on the cheat meal because it's easily 2000+ calories. There's a few Italian places in the area we like to go to and we hit Dairy Queen on the way home. Pizza and/or pasta with a strawberry cheesecake blizzard for dessert is my go to cheat meal. Saturday morning is my heavy deadlift session for the week and that massive carb up on Friday evening really helped keep my numbers up on that cut.

If you have given thought and structured your diet meticulously you won't even need a cheat meal/day.

What I do is to first build a diet with the appropriate micronutrients that I need and if I have calories to spare I feel it with 'cheat' snacks. That way I never need a 'cheat' meal, just my weekly refeed meal which is 'clean' as well.

So far I'ved Dropped from 253lbs to 240lbs so cheat meal is a go. I box of a dozen donuts eaten over the evening with something like Chinese or burger and fries.
