Pre workout meal?

Okay so what's a good quick pre workout meal? I now have to get up workout at 6am and just need a quick easy meal in the morning before my workout.

Cream of rice with protein, salt, and peanut butter. Add the protein after its heated or drink it seprate. Takes 3 minutes to make.

Cereal and a protein shake.

Lift fasted...? Fuck. That. It's a zero sum game.

Not at all.

You just eat after you wrap up, been doing it for years. Conditioning gets a boost without adding additional cardio if you program for it.

Especially that early in the morning. Plus you don't feel bloated when you're working.

This is a great topic here.

I try to stay at least a minimum of 1 hour out and I will usually have oatmeal with honey. I keep it light. Sometimes just a banana it just depends.

With that said, the majority of my workout consists of Jiu Jitsu

Adding mass
Substantial serving of protein, double that in carbs, some fats ok.

The entire peri-workout period is crucial for packing in extra calories during a mass phase and optimizing recovery no matter what sort of diet you’re on.

I prefer 1.5 scoops protein, 2 muffins.

If you want to get the rest of your diet and training set up optimally for mass shoot me a DM!

I rarely feel bloated while working out after a meal, and I never train fasted. If it works for you, cool... But you would be an outlier.

I don't know how conditioning could get a boost... You're essentially training in as catabolic a state as possible. If you're coming at it from the angle of it being like fasted cardio, that really gives you no added benefit because calories simply need to be in a deficit. There is no added benefit to fasted cardio unless you're utilizing certain supplements and hormones, like yohimbine or GH.

Who can expect to be at top performance potential after not eating for +8hrs? No fuel sources to draw from for power? I just don't get it...

Lived on about 1200c a day for two years after initially cutting the weight. Carb depleted at less than 25g per day, usually around 60g or less fat.

Body adapted I guess? I don't know, but I gain fatty tissue quickly. Even at as little as 2500c unless my entire day is the gym and walks.

I actually feel like absolute shit if I eat before I hit the gym. Maybe a protein shake or a pouch of uncooked oats, but that's all I can handle. Still prefer to wait about an hour though.

Another good lighter option. Meadows is a great source for most anything bb related.
John is a true source of knowledge and a die hard bodybuilder. He is a guy who has tried and tried again until he finally made pro. He tried more times than most, he trains hard as fuck too!!!

In terms of nutrition he is light years ahead of most ppl. I'm definitely a fan of his, he is one of the few sources of no bullshit knowledge for the TRUE BODYBUILDING ENTHUSIAST, not the drama club nonsense
