Program feedback please

Hi. What do you think of the creeping death and omega programs by john meadows. I have heard things about meadows but looking at his programs there is a problem with failure, no high rep pump sets, no cardio or hit type work. What do you think, are these good to go or is there any tweaking that you think should be taken into consideration

I think both programs are great IMO. If you take a look at how he has his RPE scale set up you absolutely take sets to failure and past failure. He builds the volume up in his programs over X amount of weeks and also uses various intensity techniques as well to make certain parts of the workout harder. I’ve ran a couple different programs by him and if your training the way you should be then you can and will make good progress with either or any of his programs.

Also to take into consideration is that he made these available for anyone to purchase and use so not to call them a “cookie cutter” program by any means but you can absolutely personalize each program to suit your goals because I’ve used them to cut and bulk that depends on your diet obviously and I’m sure your aware of that much. Whether that be changing exercise selections, adding in whatever kind of HITT or LISS you prefer, and whatever else is going to help you reach your goals over the course of X time nothing is set in stone. So if Incline barbell isn’t your favorite opt for dumbbells or a Smith machine. Especially with leg training I know in the past he has work sprinkled in with some 20+ rep sets. So if your feelings froggy on Leg day just use the last set of an exercise or two and throw a 20+ rep set in there and add your own widow maker. Just make sure your allowing yourself enough recovery time between workouts. If your body can handle more then by all means tweak any which program to accommodate that man.

Options are endless. Make it work for YOU.

Thanks for the replies. Just started week one of creeping death and it looks like a good program. What should i do after the 12 weeks of creeping death are over, should i go back to week one, or perhaps switch to omega, i also have mountain dog by meadows, should i give that a try. Is it good to keep varying the training, what do you think my next move should be, how should i structure the workout schedules on a long term basis.
Thanks.

You have a long ways still before you need to start thinking about that. Focus on what your doing currently. Absorb as much info from the program as you can (different rep schemes, intensity techniques, etc...) and see how your body responds to them during that period of time until you complete the program. THEN when you near week 10-11 I can almost guarantee your going to know exactly what you want to do moving forward. I personally switch programs and method of training periodically. Roughly every 8-12 weeks and by “change” it could still be the same program just with different rep schemes, levels of volume (in terms of total sets and days in the gym vs off days). Sometimes if I’m running something like PHAT or along the lines of PHUL and will use the program for months at a time.. Shit at times I have no clue what I want to do and spend weeks just going in the gym, hitting it hard based off of the knowledge I’ve gained from people I’ve came into contact with and previous programs, and listening to my body and just wing it for awhile and stray away from a disciplined program to take a mental break.

No Problem. Anyone got an opinion on his shoulder program. He uses really high reps, heard about this somewhere that smaller muscles like higher reps. What do you think what is your opinion on high reps, should it be restricted to the little groups. Heard about legs as well that they like higher reps usually 15 or so but i'm not sure i'm a 8 to 10 reps kinda guy never tried high reps in my life should i give it a go.
