Hunting Season!!

Well its that exciting time of year again let the hunting begin. Lets hear your buck stories, throw up some pics or talk hunting in general.

Bow season is open now, rifle season soon. I have a blind setup on my acreage for deer hunting, going after white tail. Moose season is what gets me excited I take my dad out hunting he loves it. The only time I remember my dad ever hugging me is when I shot my first moose 6 years back haha.

Post some pics of any of your kills this year or from previous years would be awesome. I got some pics I will throw up later when at computer.

Nope white tail, personally I would not shoot a mule deer with a rack like that it would be too small. The Mule deer around here are monsters compared to that.

Seeing lots of deer. Nothing is coming within bow distance gun season opens in 3 weeks but I won't touch the rifle until I kill one with a stick and string. I usually tag out, 12 deer by mid November.

Thanks. Sorry i do not score my kills, well at least not yet. I would have to drop a record breaker then different story, I would mount that fucker up in my living room whether the wife likes it or not.

I've never actually hunted animals before. So I don't have any hunting stories.

But I was driving to the gym this morning and I saw a deer leg sticking out of the bed of a truck. Laughed pretty hard. Didn't know it was hunting season.

But I will be following this thread silently from now on just to creep and see what you fellas hunt.

Old timer told this to me years ago, and it's totally true...hunting a 3-4 year old doe is harder. They don't get all horny and stupid. The worst is they get pushed by stupid bucks.

I don't trophy hunt (nothing against it I just dont) I only really hunt to fill the deep freeze not sure if I'm going to do any bow hunting this year, season hasn't started yet where I am. But I'll definitely do some muzzleloader and rifle later this year.

7mm for both moose and deer.

Ar15, 18" 1*7 Barnes TSX .223 55gn
AR10 20" not sure of the twist 168gn Barnes tsx 308
Savage FCP10 16" 308

I use the ar in tight woods, up to about 150yds. 308 for anything else.
