Years ago, on a springbreak trip to Cancun
we exchanged some $ to pesos without any ID at a BANK window (no shady alley)
I don't remember the exact amount, but I believe you could exchange up to $100 or maybe the limit amount was set in pesos, don't quite remember.
Point is you can buy exchange small amounts with no ID whatsoever.

Is there a similar service for bitcoins?

Here in peru they don't id. I exchanged 200 dollars and got 600 soles. Only problem I had was if the dollar has a little tear they flip.

Nobody gave me a hard time when I was in Lima about small rips. A huge one yes, but nothing for the small tears or missing corners.
