Off cycle cortisol management

Has anyone tried any of these over the counter drugs that limit cortisol production? They're probably not worth a shit, but one of the staples of aas is the suppression of cortisol. So I mean if I'm off cycle and these things work, it would make sense that I supplement them. Anyone tried it or have input?

(TRUE)

but one of the staples of AAS is the suppression of cortisol.

That's another FALSE bro science extrapolation!

ASS do not alter cortisol secretion but rather down regulate (decrease the number of) GCC receptors within SKM!

That's one huge difference bc otherwise the adverse effects of AAS would be MUCH more worrisome, as their use would include some degree of immune suppression.

(However it was once believed the effects of AAS were mediated in large part via suppressed GCC secretion, which is also why "cycle tapering" was considered necessary in the 1970s )

Is that the mechanism by which AAS helps prevent proteolysis in regards to cortisol? It's actually down regulation of the receptor?

GCC receptor down regulatio would play an important role, as would the "anti-catabolic" effects of GH and SLIN, IMO.

The best thing you can do to "manage cortisol" in normal life is to just make sure you sleep well and eat well and maybe do some meditation or something once a day don't need drugs for everything

That would explain why I got the info from early Arnold then

If this is reviving an old thread, apologies, but better to tie my question to a thread that already has good info.

As stated earlier, AAS doesn't reduce the body's cortisol output but down-regulates the receptors for it.

As a result, when going off cycle, during the PCT phase, as the receptors come back on line, the body is suddenly hit with a wave of cortisol - which is catabolic - thus various meds (including RU-486 - the abortion pill) that are of use. These meds aren't good to run continuously, and cortisol within reason has good properties too. Kinda like estrogen, and most things probably, it has a range.

Here's the question, especially for those of use in true TRT mode, which implies we're like the upper range of the "normal" genpop, is there anything worth taking in the anti-cortisol area?

My TRT doc recommended some herbal concoction, that allegedly helps "control" cortisol, but I'm suspicious. - so what do ya'll do?

Phosphatidylserine helps with cortisol in higher dosages, so does arimistane (which is a mild AI, too). But, low stress, good diet, and sufficient rest are key.

Thanks, I was looking for thoughts on both how real the concern is to TRT users, since we don't crash, and also if there is anything worthwhile to take that helps in this area. Your 3 factors are definitely key criteria - and without them any workout program will underperform.

Edit:
I looked up Phosphatidylserine:
PHOSPHATIDYLSERINE: Uses, Side Effects, Interactions and Warnings - WebMD
Sounds like it is a "noo" kind of supplement, which makes sense since cortisol is tied to stress. Are you taking this? Any non-subjective improvements?

"Cortisol and stress" management has its origins in "ADRENAL FATIGUE" and the latter IS based on snake oil "supplement" science!

Cortisol is one hormone that folk are best advised to avoid experimenting with bc the consequences of withdrawal can be deadly!

Yep, I got pointed in the "adrenal fatigue" direction by one doc and that sounded like hogwash.

So you say Cortisol is best ignored, and just focus on quality diet and sleep and all will be fine?
