No I'm unaware of any white NFL players protesting for any racial movements. Probably because it's inappropriate haha.
People ask me all the time how I feel about the protest the national anthem. You can believe what you'd like. At my house I don't require everyone to lock up at attention but if you're at my house you will stop talking and stop what you're doing if you're within earshot of the anthem. So yes the kids stop because that's what I've taught them to do and the wife stops because we share the same opinion.
The fact that you don't do something sure as hell doesn't that I or others don't. Not that it should matter in this discussion but since you put it in I've served also.

I don't follow. The beer commercial represents Coors or what have you not the NFL.
Yes I do dictate what's appropriate. If a white male can't do it to represent a similar platform then neither should an African American
Coors uses the nfl as a platform much like Kaep does.
No you cannot dictate what's appropriate bc you can't even show me one example where a white player was punished or shutdown lol. You say a white person can't use the nfl as a platform but failed to show proof that they can't. Your feelings don't constitute reality in this matter.
I used common sense. I can't give an example because there are none. If you can't see how that would be viewed as racism and how intolerable by the NFL then maybe you don't pay as much attention on how strict they are on pretty much everything. The NFL is just being a bunch of Puss's right now considering the current dynamics.
It's a SPORTING event not a political event and I don't give a crap about kaps views.
And once again being that the NFL is largely fan based operation I do have a a say in what is appropriate.
I doubt anyone would say his cause is unjust I personally disagree with how he's going about it. Athletes have a platform few have. They can speak about it in press conferences and people listen. Michael Bennett is a prime example and really kind of got the ball rolling when he spoke up on the issue.I really don't get the dissapproval. He and others are taking a stand against police brutality and racial injustice. At no time has anyone said black power or down with whites.
They are being peaceful, yes there are some who have resorted to violence, but they are standing on their own and have been renounced by the majority.
Any social change is brought about by demonstration. People taking a stand (or a seat).
There were athletes who did interviews, made statements on ESPN. What happened? It was talked about for a day and quickly forgotten.
But now this is bringing about dialogue and hopefully change.
The peaceful protests in the 60s by Dr. King were frowned upon at the time. Now people act like it was great, but then there was great resistence. Some believed that minorities should be happy with their schools, their restraunts, their water fountains, and their rights at the time.
This is absolutely no different. Change will be made. And in the future everyone will act like it was great.
America is built on demonstration. When we left England (Boston Tea Party), when we fought against slavery, when we fought for civil rights, or womens rights...

This thread is a good example of why I think he should've done it a different way. We're not talking about the actual issue were talking about the anthem and no matter how much time passes I will disagree with the how and not the why.

The reason the press doesn't stay with it is they only say it once. If they push the issue it'll get people talking. They have access to all the press they want if they choose to use it.But how much press does Michael Bennett get? How much did the NBA players at the ESPYs get? Not much.
People talking about the anthem are doing it on purpose IMO. Distract from the real issues. It happens all the time.
Look at Rosa Parks. Read the papers from back then. They talked about a bus seat to distract from talking about civil rights because civil rights for minorities make those who have the rights uncomfortable.
You've totally blown my mind. Not much more I can say than wow. It's like arguing with a Hilary supporter!! Hahaha
I appreciate you conceding your faults in logic on this issue.
Not sure how you keep pulling all this information out of what i say. Im going to have to learn how to talk again!
No, you'll just need to work on your reading comprehension and memory skills. I can draw you a line with different colored crayons if it would help you follow along but I'm pretty sure you can still talk!
Yeah I guess so! I didn't even know it was possible to read someone sitting down during the national anthem. Or yeah maybe it's just my memory going..
Laugh out loudI'm glad you agree. The first step to correcting the problem is acknowledging it's existence![]()
Question is your problem with the disrespect you feel Kappernick is bringing to the flag by sitting? Or is it more to do with him being African American? I'm not calling you a Racist but I get that impression from reading every post you've made. Just saying.....Laugh out loud
