Help With First Cycle Nutrition

Hey guys,

I am doing my due diligence on researching everything before starting my first cycle. I have a couple months before that happens, but I would like to plan ahead accordingly.

I know how important eating is and have some questions I couldn't find searching. I don't want to be spoon fed, but if you could direct me to some really good posts, articles or videos that would be great!

Some info about me:

Age:32
Height: 6'2
Weight: 205 lbs.
Fat %: Probably around 20-25% (working on it )

I was eating very unhealthy until 2 months ago, in 3 years I went from 180 lbs in the greatest shape of my life to now being in the worst at 205 pounds, down from 210 two months ago. I now pre-cook all of my lunch and dinner meals every weekend for the week. I plan to get around 15% body fat before staring my first cycle. Below is what my current daily diet looks like. I do cardio 5 times a week with 3-4 days of physical training.

- Breakfast consists of some fruit (blackberries, strawberries, peaches, pineapple), peanut-butter, banana and protein blended smoothie & 2-4 cups of coffee.

- My lunches are either turkey or roast beef sandwiches on whole wheat bread with a side vegetable

- Dinners consist of 1-2 cups brown rice, 8-10 oz. marinated chicken with 1/2 cup green vegetables.

Once I start my first cycle, I plan to increase the meals by adding 2-3 more dinner type meals through-out the day (basically consuming 5-6 meals a day). Should I worry about my total calories/carbs/fat intake during my first cycle or should I eat as much as possible and worry about cutting after? I will be still be eating healthy (rice, oats, chicken, lean beef, yams), but I don't know what ratios would be good for me. Any good books/sites to calculate certain macros to reach goals I should know about?

Thanks

Nothing?

Well here is some stuff I found in case anyone happens to stumble in here looking for some good places to start.

1. Calculating Calories & Macros: Nutrition

2. BMI and Daily Needs Calculator: NutritionData BMI & Calories Burned Calculator

3. Information pertaining to vitamins/minerals needed for the body: Micronutrient Information Center | Linus Pauling Institute | Oregon State University

4. Meal plan ideas for different goals: https://www.eroids.com/forum/traini...ts-for-dinner/pre-cycle-nutrition-bible-guide.

At face value, your current diet seems decent (just kinda boring lol)

"...to now being in the worst at 205 pounds, down from 210 two months ago. I now pre-cook all of my lunch and dinner meals every weekend for the week. I plan to get around 15% body fat before staring my first cycle"

-5 pounds in 2 months

Which leads me to believe you're either

a) building muscle so fast that the lost fat seems insignificant in terms of your bodyweight
b) not training all that well

If it's case a, then ride that train into the ground getting all the natural gains you can. If it's case b, well you'll know because your lifts haven't improved much in the past 2 months. In both cases, you still have a ways to go before you're at/near the optimal point where you should start a first cycle. You don't go from worst shape of your life to first cycle ready in < 3 or 4 months. Get down to a decent bf% and then reevaluate. IMO, a first cycle should be focused more on bulk. Also IMO, you shouldn't bulk when you're overdue for a cut to begin with.

You could certainly scale your current diet up for your first cycle. I would suggest adding a heartier breakfast on top of the additional meals you mentioned. A bit of extra fat in there wouldn't hurt, assuming you successfully get in shape prior to the first cycle. Also consider slightly upping fiber and vegetables when it comes time for a cycle.

Thanks for commenting!

You are correct, maybe a couple of months was not the proper way of saying that, I plan on getting back to my best before starting anything. If that takes 1-2 years so be it, but I like to have short/long term goals I can plan for ahead of time.

I plan on starting a log soon, which will hopefully give everyone a better idea of my size, diet and routine. I believe it's more of (a) me gaining size and muscle again which is great, but watching the scale not move very much can be discouraging. That's why I have started to take pictures at the beginning of each month to see the changes.

My diet does sound boring, but the meals actually taste great with the proper seasoning. I will be sure to share some recipes I have learned in my logs and maybe learn a few things in the process.

I've went through a bounce back..... And muscle memory is awesome....... If you time your protein/carbs/ and fat intake right you'll be able to burn fat and build muscle at same time (for a while anyway) enjoy it why it last, and remember shit comes back faster than the first time:)
