If you aren't in a ketosis diet then there isn't really much of a point to it but if you are it's a great way to start the day as you utilize the energy better. Only thing I could see for a regular diet that it does is make it harder to not go over your daily fat requirements cause that's a lot of fats in the morning

I tried it more to see how it tastes..

The jitters, according to Mr. Asprey, come from mycotoxins found in most coffee beans. Real bulletproof coffee is brewed with a special lab tested coffee bean that he sells that are supposedly absent of these mycotoxins which negate the nootropic effects of caffeine. The butter and MCT is just supposed to be a healthy source of fat as an energy source (like he said especially for those in ketosis). I like the taste of butter whipped in coffee or chai but never tried it with his expensive 'special mycotoxin-free coffee'. I personally stay away from coffee, shit fucks me up. And, ketosis is no fun. mmmm pasta.

that myotoxin stuff that guy claims about is a dam myth.. today most all coffe is wet cured and that solves the myotoxic lvls..you could drink 150 cups of regual coffee and not have any t
oxic amounts of myotoxin

I was hoping that my skepticism was more apparent in my post. I think it's very likely that more than half of the shit that these anti-aging, self-proclaimed biohacker silicon valley nutritional experts claim has no scientific basis, or is based on poor quality/refuted scientific studies. Still I love hearing what people have to say about nutrition and use that to do a little digging since nutrition in its current state is a joke of a scientific field.

I would try this to see if it was drinkable. I don't buy into the special coffee beans too much but if I was trying to up my fat intake (especially if going keto route) it would be an excellent way to go. Fats also have been shown to improve brain function and I like how its getting paired up with caffeine which has been shown to do the same.

I've wanted to try something like this. Basically like a recipe for a muscle building flavored creamer. I swear to god Mark Bell acts like he's high in this one....

Add some full fat cream to any coffee
That's a bulletproof coffe nothing else

I like it, but I like full fat cream too much to switch.

Coffee: If you're not shaking, then you need another cup! (so says the woman in my avatar)

The medium chain triglycerides (mct) in BPC are great fuel for the brain, heart, and kidneys.

It's great for keto dieting. As a first meal it adds an element of intermittent fasting as it is nutritional hormone neutral.

I make mines with 100% kona, grass fed butter, coconut milk from the can, and Splenda.

Bulletproof coffee is an overpriced gimmick :(

I think so.

People on low-carb or paleo diets (and some who are not) have been putting coconut oil and/or butter in coffee for a long time. Its main role in the diet is to kill hunger, especially in the early stages of the diet.

Exactly! If you think about, Dave Asprey is actually kind of a genius, because he was able to market and charge a premium for a product that is just a combination of two pre-existing things.

It's like, imagine if I pitched you a product that was just green tea plus honey. You might try it and be like, damn, that's good, I'm gonna go to the grocery store and buy some green tea and some honey. But I'd need to be a baller salesman to sell you on the idea of my green tea/honey vision when both are readily available.

I used to work with a fat fuck who swore by bullet proof, we called him butters because he put grass fed butter in his coffee. I got that fat fuck to bring me a bullet proof coffee everyday because I told him I could feel the difference as it took my hunger away, which it didn't do for me either. Bottom line is it's good tasting coffee that I got for free.

Asprey forgot to tell everyone that it's really the steroids, cytomel and modafinil he used that made all the difference for him and not the bulletproof coffee.
