Too Much Tuna?

I eat at least one can of tuna a day. I find it hard to hit my protein for the day without it. People have been warning me that I will get stupid (actually stupider) from the mercury. I only eat solid white in water right out of the can. I googled it and found out that the solid white was highest in mercury. How much is safe to eat? Any alternatives? What I have at my disposal in my shop is; a can opener, plastic forks and spoons, a strainer and a microwave. I am already eating yogurt and kidney beans and still having a hard time with 230gr of protein a day. BTW I have limited time to shop and prepare so everything must be grab and go from the supermarket in the morning. The only thing I prepare ahead of time is hard boiled eggs at six a day

Thanks
Rocco

Canned tuna contains varying amounts of methylmercury, which is a known neurotoxin. Although your body slowly excretes mercury slowly over time, ingesting too much of it causes an accumulation of mercury in bodily tissues, such as your brain and kidneys. Symptoms of long-term mercury exposure include numbness in your skin, shakes or tremors, difficulty walking, vision problems, memory problems, seizures and fetal brain damage when ingested during pregnancy or through breast milk.

I usually do 2 cans per day.

I was able to find a tuna that contains28 G protein x can.

I think im going ro reduce mi intake to 3 can x week istead of 7

Wouldn't two cans a day be 14 a week? I was having 7 per week but swapped in canned chicken every other day instead.

A scoop of whey should = a can of tuna worth in protein. Gram per gram it's also a cheaper source of protein, and much faster to ingest.

0.02.

EDIT: If you like a more "chewy" form of protein, I'd recommend P28 whey protein bread. It's a bit expensive, but tastes pretty decent IME.
