Well you should vote Flenser. It makes you feel good, like your part of the system that's helping make the right changes in the right direction. Without guidance from it's subjects the government would be out of control.

War makes rich men richer, powerful men more powerful, it allows powerful men to show who has a bigger dick, kills off poorer people, allows government to hold greater control over it's people and cleans the earth of humans since we breed way to fast.

I think the frustration comes from the fact that people are not given much of a choice, when you get that high in to political offices, as to who they have to vote for. Twiddle-dee or twiddle-dum. The money factor comes in to play, you know this as well as I do. The answer? Start from the local dog catcher and work up. How long do we have?

Sadly, I agree. The system we have in place allows narrow choices. Money is the major factor. Term limits and party affiliations are others. Doubt we'll see such a radical change in our lifetime, but that doesn't mean we have to give up the push for reform. It took the American colonists 18 years to fully gain independence. Took ten years of putting the process in place before declaring war with the British Empire. Of course, they didn't have 58 million people on government assistance as an incentive to not rock the boat. That's another story. Point is, you've got to start something to get something and keep it rolling.
I don’t find it corny. I find it sad. I shook off my programming 13 years ago, and discovered the world is a very different place than what I was led to believe.
I subscribe to the non-aggression principle. No one has a right to “vote” themselves the contents of their neighbor’s pockets. Voting (in this context) violates my morals.
I can make a single “donation” to the politician of my choice and gain more political power than 100 voters will ever have. The pawns are the voters. They don’t count, the counters do. The entrenched powers choose, and the media informs. It’s an incredibly efficient system. One that I admire, actually. I just don’t admire it enough to surrender my morals to take part in it.

I got rid of my television in 1996. My eyes were opening very quickly then to illusion that has been propagated to us for over a century and when I dropped television it came on like a ton of bricks.
Its not just the people on government assistance, it's the technological sheep that are being programmed day after day by tablets, laptops (yes, this one I am on), Smart?phones..... that have no connection with substance. They care about "hollywood stars," sports, bullshit politics and the "I can't miss my show" tv.
All those things disconnect us from our natural roots and takes us from the real integrity of life. Be it God or buddha, trees or nothing, that is what we are being drawn away from, daily.

This gives a very small peek at "Willie". Yes he was "secretly" sent to explore for oil in Palestine employed by Standard Oil. He and three others were posing as wealthy playboys visiting the holy land. He was doing surveys around the Dead Sea and Jordan. Standard oil an agreement to sell oil to Turkey (Ottoman empire). He worked for our State Department and British intelligence while still on Standards payroll. There is a lot more to Yale than you'll easily find on the internet.

voters scare politicians. the problem is the smart voters seem to stay home and the sheep end up voting in these fuck jobs. stop staying home and go vote. we actually out number the quack jobs. the reason we don't get better candidates, to many of the good guys have done crazy shit in the past. they are not good enough to sale to the general public, cause heaven forbid if any one has done drugs in the past or thinks legalizing drugs is a smart idea. 80% of the prison population is non violent drug offenders. we let out the violent people to put away non violent drug offends. WTF!!!!!! the sheep are brain washed into believing this is ok. this is just an example of how screwed up the sheep and the system.

We used incentivized experimental games to manipulate leader power — the number of followers and the discretion leaders had to enforce their will.
Leaders had complete autonomy in deciding payouts to themselves and their followers.
Although leaders could make prosocial decisions to benefit the public good they could also abuse their power by invoking antisocial decisions, which reduced the total payouts to the group but increased the leaders' earnings.
In Study 1 (N = 478), we found that both amount of followers and discretionary choices independently predicted leader corruption.
In Study 2 (N = 240), we examined how power and individual differences (e.g., personality, hormones) affected leader corruption over time; power interacted with endogenous testosterone in predicting corruption, which was highest when leader power and baseline testosterone were both high.
Honesty predicted initial level of leader antisocial decisions; however, honesty did not shield leaders from the corruptive effect of power.

This study verifies what I've always said before. If you're not corrupt before being in office, you will be as soon as you take office. Never considered the testosterone angle, but it makes sense. So,... the system is simply a result of our behaviors. Wonder how many of our leaders are on TRT? Lord Acton did give us hope in the second sentence of his quote on corruption when he said, "Great men are almost always bad men."
Sadly, I cannot state that I identify any of our political leaders of late to be anywhere near great.
"Power" that's a very strong aphrodisiac.
