i was wondering if you knew of any law databases - court cases that set precedence, general laws and amendments, etc. - that are free to the public. There are of course the ones provided to companies and firms at premium prices but everytime i search for legal info i come up with "lists of lawyers in my area" websites and "legal help over the internet" sites.
Just would like to do some research for myself. Especially on state and local law.
Also, with everything being public record why isn't this information made more accessible to the people? (my conspiracy theory thought process could think of many a reason) or is it? do i have to go down to the courthouse and fill out 13 forms in quadruplicate and stamp it with my thumbprint and a mushroom print of my penishead for every bit of public info that i want?
Thanks,
WiR
