Imagine tying USA! FIFA is almost as corrupt/rigged as the NFL.

Apparently, wherever there is money, I mean sports, especially Olympic and non-Olympic ones too, are subject to corruption.
Probably only sports where there is no money, for example powerlifting, there is no pronounced policy.

Saudi was something like +2500 underdogs. Argentina is a perennial powerhouse and expected to compete for the Cup, not lose to a scrub team like Saudi.

So apparently, some teams will lose or not attempt to win but maybe tie, IF the ranking will give them a better chance in the end of the end of round robin. So not sure if this is true in this case but there was another.

For example these teams are not linked.

If Team Brazil Plays Uruguay but by letting Team Uruguay win they wont have to play Germany later, but play Mexico, they woukd let USA win because Brazil advances anyway, but then Doesnt have to face a beastly team lik Germany later.

They do this because in the elimination round they can easily beat the worse team. But this only peers its head very rarely, and its not right, but its a business.

That is, there is a place to be a tactical game, to lose in order to save strength for the final games. I think this makes sense.

I also found out that Japan won, it's just a shock for me, I still can't believe it. This championship is definitely kind of strange to say the least.
