Weightlifting shoes

Who here has used weightlifting shoes? Which ones have you had, and what did you like/not like about them?

I’m looking to purchase a pair, and have an idea of what I think may work for me, but I wanted opinions from anyone who has or currently uses them.

One thing that I’m thinking about is the stiff plastic heal raise vs hard foam. Also if anyone had opinions on the 0.6-1” hight heal raise.

Thanks for chiming in guys.

I should have stated this is geared more towards squatting.

How’s the toe box width on those Reeboks? I have wide feet, and struggle to find shoes that fit properly. Is the heel lift area on those hard plastic or foam? How have they held up?

Edit: Saw they have a TPU heal, but says geared towards more of a flat foot.

I figured as much lol but thought to throw in the Chucks

I dont have an overly wide foot and find the toes fit great, snug but not tight. I dont have flat feet and like the heel, its solid and feel planted almost magnetically to the platform, at least thats the sensation as best as I can describe it.
I fond they are holding up well, the only complaint is on me fraying laces as they get caught up under velcro strap sometimes

Been doing nothing but researching this today. Seems like the Reebok Legacy Lifter, and Rogue’s Do Win are what I’m down to. Everything else I’m thinking would be too narrow.

I was able to go to a store and try on the Reeboks, not sure if thats an option for you?

Nope. Nothing around here for lifting shoes at all. I’m having to go off reviews and pictures. What store had them available for you to try on?

I go barefoot on everything! I have some barefoot trail shoes I use when I go to the gym just because I have to
My knees are pretty shot, ankle mobility isn’t there, and I started having lower back pain from squatting. Went to the chiropractor to get adjusted and had him check my squat form (he’s also a personal trainer) and I have some butt wink that has crept into my form. Plates under the feet helped, so I’m having to go this route now.

Adidas powerlift have a .7” heel. I’ve used them for squats and bench. I like them. I think anything with a higher heel would be a pain.
A 10lb plate under my heals eliminated the butt wink and felt so much better on my knees. I’m not sure, but I’m guessing that was around 1.25” or so. I would say too high, but felt better than my Nike trainers which are pretty flat.

I've been told I have wide feet my whole life. Thoroughly believed it all the way into my 30s when I bought my Adi-Powers. I have normal width feet. However I have a short toe box which kinda falsely gives me the need for wider shoes.

I have had Adi-Powers, Romaleos, and Sabo Goodlifts. Haven't found a comfortable pair of "Squat" shoes yet. But if you have a wider foot the Romaleos are wider then the Adidas.

I will be buying a pair of Sabo weightlifting shoes. I've owned the sabo deadlifts and the Sabo Goodlifts. I love Sabo products they feel great on my feet.

Have you actually measured the width of your feet so see wether your a "C" or "D" width or greater

You dont need anything greater then the standard 0.75 in. Anything greater then that it will start to pitch you so far forward you'll be out of balance. Standard heels will work trust me. Use the heels and work on your mobility. I started in heels and went to flats when my mobility allowed. Sometimes I'm too tight and have to junp.back in my heels.

I have adipower's that I like a lot. Only pair I've ever used, so can't really compare to others but I can't imagine I'd see any improvement with others... These do everything I want. At the rate they're going, I would be very surprised if I need to replace them anytime soon... They still look brand new and I've had them maybe two years.

Aside from that, I got them to help prevent knee issues... And they've helped but, ankle mobility work helps even more.

They all function the same way, but slightly different shoe designs. So if you have a funky wide foot, they say Adidas are to small in the toe making it miserable. Then I hey have Pendlay Do-Wins, that are designed for wider feet.

I’ll eventually get to try the Reebok’s, but I just messed up my knee again (2.5 hours ago). Gotta make an apt with the ortho tomorrow then get an MRI. Looks like another injury to add to my never ending list . With my luck this will be a third surgery on this knee.
