There is left wing populism like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Jeremy Corbyn then there is center left also known as "liberal elites" like Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Tony Blair and Barack Obama (he ran as left wing attacking 1% but his policies shifted more center during his term somewhat and raising healthcare cost while rich got richer). This isn't just happening in the US but also in Europe despite you guys already having Medicare for all and cost of living STILL rising! We need a new currency that isn't pegged on the working class to subsidize the growing welfare class.

We debate these subjects all the time.

When someone is very ill, homeless, on drugs. You'd be hard pressed to go in a direction that completely turns their back on these people in need. There's always gonna be a certain percentage of people that need help, it's reality, so now what do you do about it? No one wants to support a welfare state with their own labor, I certainly don't see the need in rewarding careless behavior. At the same time I do have some humanity if I know there are kids living in extreme poverty due to no fault of their own.

In a country like the USA, with as many fat people as there are, if we can't spare some resources to help those on the lower rung of life, then what's the point of even calling ourselves a country.
