yup, looks like your right, Trump is giving a 30 day grace period to Canada, as Trudeau bowed down at the knee to his demands... that did not last long.Canada will bend the knee.
In many ways "shopping" cannot be changed. Say nickel for example. Canada produces 45% of all the world's nickel. Unless it's purchased from Russia/comrades of Russia then it's Sweden next with around 9% the world market. Nickel is required for a tremendous amount of steel alloys, titanium and so on. Sweden's price is much higher, further to ship and most importantly not enough for the "need". Hello WAY higher prices for the customers of the USA. No import tariff on nickel? No problem?? That's ok, we will place one on for them, collect the extra 25% export tariff money and spend it on ourselvesSince I'm Canadian, what does other Canadian's think about Trump new tarrifs, and how that will affect the Canadian economy. Will you change your shopping ways? for our U.S neighbours, how will this affect you?
I wish I shared your optimism.By the way there will be no annex in any shape way or form by will and there cannot be a concur. Not possible. NATO and allies of piece will come to any free and democratic society's aid when requested. I sure hope this thread dies
I'd go to war before I give up the sovereignty of my country.I wish I shared your optimism.
If the US government decides they're going to annex Canada, I don't think any of our allies are going to do much at all to stop it. They'll probably get together and write a letter to Trump about how much they disapprove but that's about it. They aren't going to argue with him about it or he'll just tariff the fuck out of them and they'll capitulate to save their own political careers. They certainly aren't going to try to stop a military invasion. They're not going to send their troops here to get wtfpwned by the american military. Not a chance.
I don't think there will be much of any fighting happening at all, personally. We will just all agree to play it smart, and open our door like "alright, fuck. Come on in. Beer's in the fridge, just don't drink it all. And try not to be a bunch of dicks."
Then they'll treat us like the 51st state. The red-headed stepson. A resource deposit and nothing more. They'll bleed us dry. They'll give us sweet fuck all for federal funding towards education, healthcare, pensions, you name it. They'll give us jobs in the mines they'll take control of. They'll open more of them and we'll get to work there too. Yay. We don't have enough water to sustain ourselves longterm but they'll take that too(Trump can't wait to get his hands on our water. He knows if he can fix the US freshwater crisis he will be diefied in the history books). Our ecology will be absolutely destroyed, the country will be on fire and we'll have no water to fight the fires. We'll all be poor, sick, and eventually we'll be too dumb to care. We will be too concerned with making sure we have enough to eat.
I see nothing but doom in our future. I think the US government knows the level of trouble their country is in. I don't think the average person knows, but I think they know. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I think they've gone full-steam ahead during their first month in office because they needed to if they're going to accomplish all of the things they want to before Trump's term is up. It won't be his last term, mind you, and that's a big part of it too.
Big things are coming, my friend. Big fuckin things.
Everybody start limbering up.
Brother I can promise you we will not be absorbed by you. I will die before I'm the 51st state.Whether Canada likes it or not, eventually Canada will be absorbed by USA. Is it right? Is it fair? Unfortunately it does not matter. Its called Imperialism and USA will need Canada's resources to maintain its super power position in the world in the coming decades. Only a matter of time.
